Career CategoryMedical AffairsJob DescriptionJob Purpose • To maximize Amgen's value propositions through first-class medical and scientific projects, services, and expertise with key scientific customers. • To implement scientific programs in local territories in collaboration with external/internal customers. • To lead medical projects including evidence-generation activities, large medical events, and publications to contribute to the Amgen business. • To be a key member of the brand team and develop product strategy with the local commercial team. Key Responsibilities • Identify, develop, and maintain collaborative relationships with current and future scientific experts, cooperative study groups. • Discuss scientific value messages, clinical outcomes, and patient benefits with scientific experts and opinion leaders. • Work with Medical and relevant internal colleagues to create engagement plans for external experts. • Provide insights from field activity and contribute to local medical and brand strategy activities in accordance with internal and external regulations. • Identify new research opportunities and provide support for Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISS) and Amgen Sponsored Trials as necessary. • Ensure society engagement: MSL support of international and regional congresses. • Implement and disseminate high-quality medical and scientific educational programs and manage medical events, not only providing logistics but also medical leadership. • Support local operations of clinical trials in collaboration with cross-functional development teams. • Communicate with medical and other relevant organizations of alliance partners to maximize the value of collaboration. • Participate in/conduct Local Advisory Board Meetings, Investigator Meetings, and/or Expert Panels. • Provide therapeutic area and product training for internal stakeholders. Basic Qualifications (Minimum Requirements) • Education history in life-science or relevant area. • Minimum of 2 years in pharmaceutical industry or proven industry collaboration in academia. • Experience in Medical Affairs or Clinical Development, or relevant field. • Knowledge in immunology/inflammation, dermatology or related therapeutic areas. • Good communication/negotiation skills with scientific experts and internal stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications • Advanced degrees (Master, PhD, MD, or PharmD) strongly preferred. • Experience in companies with immunology, inflammation, dermatology, or rheumatology products. • Experience with medical/scientific study management or conduct. • Knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, product lifecycle, and commercialization processes with an advanced understanding of functions including but not limited to Clinical Operations, Commercial, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs. • Knowledge of clinical research and messaging (study design, evaluation, medical writing, expert panel conduct, symposium/workshop management, KOL management). • Network of customer contacts in immunology/inflammation, dermatology, or rheumatology. • Capability in office work and project management. Competency • Medical/scientific expertise and business acumen with strong customer orientation. • Native level Japanese and business-level English. • Strong communication and presentation skills. • Continuously expanding medical and scientific knowledge as well as market knowledge in immunology/inflammation. • Ability to work in a cross-functional team (Commercial, Clinical Development, EU teams, HE, Regulatory, Safety, etc.). • Role model for others in line with Amgen Values. .
