A Day in the LifeAs a Engineering Technician at Medtronic, you are the primary technical expert responsible for designing, optimizing, implementing, and validating automated manufacturing processes. You will troubleshoot complex electromechanical failures, ensuring that high-speed production equipment—from simple relays to advanced servo robotics and machine vision systems—operates at peak efficiency while adhering strictly to regulated quality standards. We’re working a minimum of 5 days a week onsite as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Provides technical support to engineers to achieve improvements in cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety and compliance of production and operations processes and products. Monitors instruments and equipment and collects operating data, including calibration, inspection, testing and repair activities, to assist in making on-line adjustments to instruments, equipment, or products. Analyzes and resolves malfunctions and deviations of instruments and control systems to identify and resolve problems. Conducts, analyses and prepares reports using metrics from salvage tracking, trending, reporting and root-cause analyses. Maintains process designs to optimize process, equipment and facility use while conforming to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Nice to Have Technical experience in controls, automation, or equipment maintenance Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial electrical systems Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues in a manufacturing or lab environment Experience reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation Hands-on use of diagnostic and test equipment Experience documenting technical work accurately and thoroughly Exposure to regulated manufacturing environments and quality system expectations Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools and practices Ability to adapt quickly and support multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required. Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$44,000.00 - $66,000.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
