Join us as: Supply Chain Mgr – Global Distribution Operations What you will do In this vital role, you will lead a team of Supply Chain Subject Matter Experts responsible for Operations Support and Reverse Logistics Order-to-Cash activities across our regions. The team supports the movement of products from customers and external partners back to Amgen sites, while also providing operational, compliance, analytical, and continuous-improvement support to the Global Distribution Hubs. You will be accountable for day-to-day execution, team capability, workload and resource planning, process performance, compliance, and continuous improvement. Working with a high degree of independence, you will translate business priorities into clear operating plans and ensure that internal and external stakeholders receive reliable, compliant, and high-quality supply chain support. You will partner closely with senior management, Finance, Information Systems, Quality and Compliance, Customer Experience, Commercial teams, Global Transportation Excellence, distribution sites, warehouses, logistics service providers, and transportation service providers. In this vital role, you will: Lead the daily execution of Operations Support and Reverse Logistics Order-to-Cash activities Direct, coach, and develop a team of Subject Matter Experts responsible for operational support, reverse logistics, compliance, analytics, and continuous-improvement activities. Own team capacity, resource, and workload planning, ensuring the organization is appropriately staffed and qualified to meet current and future business requirements. Recruit, onboard, develop, and manage team members, including performance management, development planning, succession planning, and assignment of staff to projects and operational activities. Ensure that critical recurring processes—including shipments, returns, process checks, reconciliations, reporting, and operational controls—are planned and completed accurately, efficiently, and on time. Establish and maintain clear procedures, process governance, operating standards, and key performance indicators for activities within the team’s scope. Use data and analytics to identify performance trends, support decision-making, prioritize improvement opportunities, and improve business outcomes. Independently determine solutions and operating approaches that provide a superior support experience to internal and external stakeholders. Manage operational risks, issues, and customer escalations, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication across the relevant stakeholder groups. Ensure systems and digital solutions are fit for purpose in close partnership with Information Systems, including supporting system enhancements, implementations, testing, adoption, and continuous improvement. Apply Operational Excellence, Lean, and structured problem-solving methodologies to improve service, compliance, cost, quality, and productivity. Initiate, participate in, and lead cross-functional projects and improvement initiatives across regional and global supply chain operations. Provide leadership with recommendations on long-term strategy, operating models, capability requirements, and operational objectives. Manage interfaces between internal functions and external supply chain partners across operational, tactical, and strategic levels. Consider the financial implications of operational decisions and prioritize resources and initiatives based on business need and patient impact. Ensure that all relevant systems, processes, and activities comply with applicable GDP, GMP, SOX, audit, and internal control requirements. Maintain inspection and audit readiness and ensure that operational records, procedures, and controls are complete, current, and sustainable. Manage multiple assignments, operational processes, and improvement initiatives independently and concurrently. Reliable and compliant reverse-logistics and operations-support processes across the EMEA region. Timely and effective support to customers, affiliates, distribution sites, warehouses, and external supply chain partners. Measurable improvements in operational performance, service, compliance, quality, cost, and productivity. Effective collaboration across Amgen functions, regions, sites, and external partners. The Supply Chain professional we seek is an experienced people leader with strong operational judgment, a continuous-improvement mindset, and the ability to lead effectively in a complex, global, and regulated environment. Minimum requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent, in: Logistics or Supply Chain Management; Business Administration; Life Sciences; or a related discipline. At least five years of relevant professional experience, preferably within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or another highly regulated industry. Strong knowledge of: supply chain management; Order-to-Invoicing or Order-to-Cash processes; reverse logistics; international trade principles; and operational support processes. At least three years of people-management or supervisory experience, leading Bachelor’s- or Master’s-level professionals in an international, project-oriented, or regulated environment. Demonstrated experience in: hiring and onboarding; coaching and staff development; performance management; succession planning; and building effective teams. Significant experience working across global, cross-functional, and matrix organizations. Working knowledge of GMP requirements and a strong understanding of Good Distribution Practices and SOX controls. Demonstrated experience applying Operational Excellence, Lean, continuous-improvement, or structured problem-solving methodologies. Experience using data, performance metrics, and analytics to identify trends, support decisions, and improve business performance. Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with ERP platforms, preferably SAP. Ability and willingness to travel internationally, up to approximately 15% of the time. Willingness to be based at, or relocate to, Amgen India — AIN. Preferred requirements Leadership-development or people-management certification. Project Management certification. Operational Excellence certification. APICS CSCP or CPIM certification. Lean Six Sigma certification. Experience leading system implementations, digital transformation, automation, or process-governance initiatives. Experience managing operational relationships with warehouses, logistics service providers, transportation providers, affiliates, and customers.
