Job description
JOB PURPOSE: The Accounting & Reporting Manager’s primary role is to support Machining BA China Division Finance Controller to ensure an accurate and timely financial reporting is prepared according to Sandvik group closing schedule, as well as regular financial statement review to make sure accounting hygiene. Correspondingly any accounting or reporting defect is properly escalated to Division CFO / FC / BC for rectification. He / she will also be responsible for statutory audit as well as government reporting requirements such as tax / statistic filing if applicable. In order to fulfill this target, the role owner needs to lead the accounting team to make sure the relevant accounting tasks are delivered in a timely manner; proper working processes are established and documented; as well as relevant FRP (Finance & Reporting Policy) are well understood and followed by team members. Furthermore, the manager will need to support Division FC and work closely with Finance Concept Owner to drive efficiency improvement, any best practice are implemented within the accounting organization, which includes but not limited to process standardization, digitalization solution etc. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial Reporting - Understand, interpret and guide the finance team to have group / BA / Division Financial Reporting Procedures, Guidelines fully aligned and implemented throughout the finance organization; - Organize the finance team to complete all finance tasks in a timely manner and deliver a qualified periodic financial report according to Sandvik closing timetable; - Lead monthly BS review to make sure accounting hygienics for Division entities, escalate any accounting / business defect with relevant stakeholders for remediations; - Focal points to external auditors and government officers for statutory audit and filings, collaborate with internal stakeholders like tax, treasury etc. to make sure the relevant reports or queries are addressed timely; Division Finance Operation - Implement and build Division accounting SSC to create critical mass as well as domain expertise in respective accounting cycles; - Lead Division finance SSC team and establish / document Standard Operation Procedure for each accounting cycles, maintain the SOP in a timely manner to make sure it’s relevant and up to date; - Define meaningful performance measurements as SLA and execute to deliver a qualified accounting service according to SLA; - Identify any initiatives for operation excellence, work closely with Finance Concept Owner to drive continuous improvement by implementing those initiatives / best practice into finance operation, update accounting manual or SOP correspondingly; - People responsibilities including but not limited to lead / coach / motivate / retain etc. to continuously improve the competence level for the team; Internal Control - Work closely with Division IC lead to document the relevant finance control points and procedures under Division internal control framework; - Make sure the relevant finance control activities are conducted according to control descriptions and standard operating procedure, organize the finance team to document the proof of control activities in a good manner; - Support the IC lead for cross function internal control assessments and complete control evaluation within the deadline; Credit and Collection - Work closely with Division Controller / BU Controllers for credit management, escalate any credit risks to controllers to make sure credit exposure is properly monitored; - Deeply involved in credit release procedure and make sure the relevant procedure is strictly followed as of finance part; - Establish appropriate dunning process and implement accordingly, document the relevant dunning proofs according to SOP; - Follow up “shipped not billed” items and make sure the immediate remediation action is escalated and taken for long aged customer GIT by sales / BU controllers; REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Bachelor in Accounting or Finance 10+ years relevant working experience Good communication skill Fluent English Good understanding on GAAP Open and keen to learn Be accountable and willing to take lead Solid and be careful on detail Operation management understanding a plus
