Job description

About the RoleWe are seeking a Key Account Manager to lead sales of underground (UG) drilling equipment for the tunnelling segment within an assigned geographical territory in Japan. This role is responsible for managing and growing relationships with a small number of large, strategically important customers, while identifying and converting new business opportunities in the tunnelling market. This is a high-impact position supporting our continued growth in Japan's underground construction and tunnelling sector. Key ResponsibilitiesManage sales of products and services to a small number of large customers within an assigned geographical territory. Retain and grow business with existing customers and generate sales from new customers. Anticipate and understand customer needs and match them with our product offering to maximize customer value and sales profit. Pursue sales leads; visit existing and new customers who may be of strategic importance to the organization; assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products and services; negotiate prices and delivery times within limits of authority, and conclude sales orders to meet revenue targets. Collect and communicate relevant business and market intelligence to product and sales management using applicable CRM systems. Establish annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly sales plans, and prioritize and schedule own activities to ensure targets are met. Coach and mentor less experienced sales representatives to help them achieve their sales targets. What We're Looking ForProven sales experience, ideally within mining, tunnelling, construction equipment, or related capital equipment industries. Strong understanding of underground drilling equipment and tunnelling applications (or a strong technical aptitude to build this knowledge quickly). Demonstrated ability to manage key accounts and build long-term customer relationships. Strong negotiation, forecasting, and territory-planning skills. Experience using CRM systems to manage pipeline and report market intelligence. Willingness to travel within the assigned territory to visit customer sites. Japanese business fluency; English working proficiency preferred for internal reporting and collaboration. Prior experience mentoring or supporting junior sales colleagues is a plus.
