This Position reports to: R&D Team Lead Your role and responsibilities : In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB’s success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team. The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid This role is contributing to the Motion High Power (MOHP) Division in Bengaluru, India. You will be mainly accountable for: Working as an independent and reliable contributor in R&D projects with limited supervision. Understanding and applying applicable processes, standards, guidelines, and requirements, including architectural and design constraints. Developing Firmware of VFD, AC-AC/ AC- DC/ DC-DC Converters at various layers of architecture. Deliver end-to-end product development including design, reviews, and hands-on development, across local and remote teams. Collaborate with Product Owner to identify new opportunities and manage configurations, troubleshooting, upgrades, technical training, and documentation. Demonstrating Solid Competency in embedded C++ or C programming and Designing concepts. Provide support to customers requirement or issues within area of expertise, and represent the team in internal and external engineering forums to ensure effective collaboration and visibility. Drive innovation while maintaining oversight of intellectual property within the domain, proactively identify, assess, and manage risks across R&D projects and organizational processes. Apply strong competencies in safety, quality, innovation, ownership, and collaboration in technical domains, tools, processes, communication, and risk and IP management to deliver high-quality outcomes. Qualifications for the role: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical Engineering/Power Electronics with 2-4 years of experience in embedded software programming in C++ or C Must have strong experience in Drives/VFD or inverter embedded system design and development.. Know-how of Hardware in loop simulations. Knowledge of Drive functionality testing, CI/CD, DevOps, worked with some kind of automation would be an added advantage Knowledge of Agile/ SCRUM way of working and any certifications with basic Testing would be advantageous Good Collaboration skills with an open mindset to learn quickly and adapt More about us: ABB Motion High Power is the market leader in high-power, high-performance drives, drive systems and packages for industrial process and large infrastructure applications, and a leading supplier of power conversion equipment for renewable energy and other applications.
