The Financial Analyst – Operations FP&A serves as a key finance partner supporting Workplace Services laboratory and service operations in Lake Forest, Illinois. This role collaborates closely with operational leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to provide financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analytical support that enables informed decision-making and drives operational performance. The Financial Analyst is responsible for delivering actionable financial insights and recommendations that support resource allocation, business planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. By analyzing financial and operational data, the individual in this role helps leadership identify trends, evaluate performance, understand key business drivers, and make data-driven decisions that support organizational goals. Working in partnership with Workplace Services and operational teams, the Financial Analyst plays an important role in strengthening financial visibility across the organization through timely reporting, forecast development, variance analysis, and performance monitoring. This position supports annual operating plan development, forecasting processes, cost accounting activities, capital investment evaluations, and operational improvement initiatives. Leveraging strong analytical capabilities, business acumen, and collaboration skills, the Financial Analyst helps advance financial discipline, operational excellence, and continuous improvement while ensuring alignment between financial objectives and business strategy. The role contributes to the long-term success of the organization by supporting sustainable growth, efficient resource utilization, and strong operational performance. What You’ll Work On Serve as a finance business partner to Workplace Services laboratory and operations teams, providing financial analysis, insights, and recommendations that support business objectives, operational performance, and resource allocation decisions Contribute to the development, consolidation, analysis, and ongoing management of annual operating plans, quarterly forecasts, long-range plans, and capital budgets, helping ensure alignment with operational and financial objectives Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results, identifying key drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities Assist with financial reporting and performance analysis for the Workplace Services P&L, including gross margin, operating expenses, capital spending, and operational performance metrics Conduct financial and operational analyses related to labor productivity, testing volumes, utilization trends, service-line performance, and operational efficiency initiatives Partner with laboratory and operational leaders to identify opportunities for productivity improvements, cost optimization, automation, and enhanced operational performance through financial and operational analysis Develop financial analyses and recommendations related to productivity initiatives, operational investments, and business improvement opportunities to support informed decision-making Support laboratory cost accounting processes, including cost analysis, cost allocations, and financial reporting activities that support operational performance management and business decision-making Assist in maintaining service-line profitability analyses, laboratory costing models, and operational performance reporting to support business planning and decision-making Analyze cost drivers and operational performance metrics to support the identification of margin improvement opportunities and productivity initiatives Prepare monthly business review materials and management reporting packages, translating financial and operational results into actionable insights and recommendations Support evaluation of strategic initiatives, operational investments, and business improvement opportunities through financial modeling, scenario analysis, and return-on-investment assessments Monitor performance against budget and forecast commitments, assisting business partners in identifying corrective actions when performance gaps arise Develop, maintain, and improve financial models, forecasting tools, dashboards, scorecards, and key performance indicators that enhance visibility into financial and operational performance and support business decision-making Participate in and help drive cross-functional transformation initiatives, process improvement projects, and modernization efforts that enhance efficiency, scalability, and business performance Drive continuous improvement in forecasting, reporting, and analytics processes through automation, standardization, and business intelligence solutions Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field 2 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, accounting, operational finance, or a related finance function Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and business performance analysis Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders Willingness to travel periodically, as required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: MBA, CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification preferred. Experience supporting operational, laboratory, healthcare, or service-based organizations Knowledge of FP&A processes, financial modeling, forecasting methodologies, profitability analysis, cost accounting principles, and performance management Experience supporting operational finance activities, including budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and business performance reporting Experience leveraging data analytics and visualization tools to identify trends, generate business insights, and support decision-making Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint Experience using Power BI, Power Query, or similar business intelligence tools to automate reporting and deliver actionable business insights Experience with ERP, financial planning, and enterprise reporting systems Demonst
