Introduction to the jobAs a Customer Support Competence Engineer – Diagnostics & Service, you will improve how Customer Support diagnoses and resolves complex equipment issues. You will combine service-engineering knowledge with Python and DevOps skills to develop diagnostic, automation, and data tools that help engineers work faster and more consistently. You will work with service teams, engineering, infrastructure teams, and customers to turn real field issues into practical improvements. Role and responsibilitiesLead and support complex technical problem solving and service escalations. Analyze equipment, diagnostic, process, and machine-data information. Support engineers and customer technical teams during complex repairs and recovery actions. Develop and maintain internal diagnostic, automation, monitoring, and data tools. Use Python for data analysis, automation, integrations, and diagnostic workflows. Apply DevOps practices, including version control, testing, CI/CD, release management, deployment, monitoring, and documentation. Improve service procedures, diagnostic content, and ways of working based on field feedback and data. Translate field-service needs into clear requirements for technical and digital solutions. Work with Customer Support, D&E, Integration, software, data, and infrastructure stakeholders. Train and coach engineers on diagnostics, technical problem solving, and digital tools. Share lessons learned through procedures, technical documentation, training, and reusable tools. Education and experienceBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent technical experience and working level may be considered. Relevant experience in technical engineering, equipment support, diagnostics, automation, or Customer Support. Semiconductor industry experience is required. Experience with complex equipment, service procedures, troubleshooting, or process improvement. Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a cross-functional or matrix organization. SkillsRequiredStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong technical competence in a relevant engineering discipline, such as electronics, mechatronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical engineering, or semiconductor process technology. Good understanding of complex equipment, modules, and system interactions. Hands-on Python programming experience. Hands-on DevOps experience, including Git/version control, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, release or deployment processes, monitoring, and documentation. Ability to build and maintain internal tools for diagnostics, automation, data analysis, or service enablement. Ability to explain technical issues clearly to engineers, stakeholders, and customers. Strong written and spoken English. PreferredExperience with machine data, monitoring systems, APIs, databases, cloud or web applications, or AI-enabled diagnostic tools. Experience with technical training, coaching, knowledge management, or procedure development. Experience with diagnostic or service applications in a high-availability industrial environment. Other informationThis is a Customer Support technical role. The main purpose is to improve diagnostic and service capability for semiconductor equipment. Python and DevOps are required because the role develops and supports internal diagnostic and service-enablement tools. The role does not own central IT infrastructure, enterprise security platforms, or corporate DevOps platforms. The role works across Customer Support, D&E, Integration, data, software, infrastructure, and customer organizations. Customer-facing support, technical workshops, and occasional on-site service activities may be required.
