Responsible AI Literacy & Enablement Manager LIVE WHAT WILL YOU DO The Manager, Responsible AI Literacy & Enablement will lead enterprise efforts to ensure Amgen colleagues can understand and apply responsible, ethical, and compliant AI practices in their day-to-day work. This role focuses on two core areas: Responsible AI literacy: Designing and scaling a layer of enterprise learning focused on responsible use, governance, and risk and regulatory awareness, complementing existing AI literacy efforts focused on AI fundamentals and adoption Enablement: Reimagining how Responsible AI and governance guidance is delivered so that employees can access and apply the right rules, expectations, and guidance at the point of need, not just through static documents or training The role operates within a coordinated AI Literacy scaling model, working across teams to ensure consistency, avoid duplication, and enable practical adoption of Responsible AI expectations across the enterprise. The responsibilities of the role will include: 1. Responsible AI Literacy (Enterprise Layer) Define and lead the enterprise Responsible AI literacy strategy, focused on responsible and ethical AI use, governance expectations, as well as risk and regulatory awareness Design a scalable Responsible AI literacy layer that complements foundational AI training, supports function-led role-based learning, and ensures consistent enterprise-wide messaging Coordinate Responsible AI literacy within a broader AI literacy model, collaborating with the AI Literacy and GTM (Go-to-Market) teams to align scope, avoid duplication, and ensure integration across learning layers Coordinate with functions on role-based training efforts to align content, identify where enterprise coverage can be leveraged, and maintain consistency with Responsible AI expectations and standards. Define and track adoption and effectiveness metrics (e.g., reach, role-based coverage, usability, correct application of guidance) Identify gaps in understanding or application and continuously improve literacy and enablement approaches 2. Responsible AI Enablement Design and implement new approaches that extend beyond formal training and static policies, SOPs, and guidance documents to make Responsible AI and AI governance guidance actionable at the point of need Explore and deliver innovative enablement mechanisms, such as interactive or conversational guidance tools, embedded workflow support, and context-aware access to policies, standards, and decision logic, to help colleagues find and apply expectations consistently Partner with technical teams to prototype and scale enablement solutions that improve usability and correct application of Responsible AI expectations WIN WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU Minimum requirements Master’s degree and 4 years of Responsible AI, AI governance, AI risk, digital transformation, learning strategy, compliance, technology enablement, or related experience, or Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Responsible AI, AI governance, AI risk, digital transformation, learning strategy, compliance, technology enablement, or related experience Working knowledge of practical AI use, risks, and Responsible AI principles. A computer science degree is not required, but candidates should be familiar with self-service AI tools and comfortable engaging with technical teams and translating technical, governance, and risk concepts into practical business guidance Familiarity with Responsible AI, AI governance, AI risk management, and emerging AI regulatory and standards-based expectations, such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and trustworthy AI characteristics, EU AI Act concepts, and internal AI governance practices Ability to partner with technical teams to define requirements, prototype solutions, test usability, and scale practical enablement solutions Strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify where employees need guidance, what decisions they are trying to make, and how enablement can be delivered in practical, workflow-relevant ways Preferred requirements Background in enterprise literacy, enablement, governance, or behavior-change programs in complex, matrixed organizations Familiarity with enterprise learning ecosystems, layered literacy models, role-based enablement, or function-led training coordination Experience developing or deploying AI-enabled enablement tools, such as chatbots, knowledge assistants, retrieval-based guidance tools, workflow copilots, or other interactive guidance mechanisms Experience with human-centered design, service design, product management, UX research, instructional design, behavioral science, or change management Prior work in a regulated industry, such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, financial services, or another environment with significant compliance, privacy, security, quality, or regulatory expectations THRIVE WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT OF US As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also care deeply for our teammates’ well-being and growth.
