A Day in the LifeMedtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC), located in Brooklyn Center, MN, is looking for a Technician III. The person that takes this role will be expected to perform analysis and repair of electrical and mechanical systems to support daily operations at MECC. This individual will perform assigned tasks & routine duties using standard practices and work instructions in the area under limited supervision. Technician will use electronic training and knowledge of repair techniques using standard test equipment and hand tools. Position requires considerable level of knowledge and judgment in determining work methods, performing tasks / tests and recording data. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Performs installation, maintenance, and repairs on line manufacturing or plant equipment. Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions. Maintains appropriate maintenance and repair logs. Uses a variety of hand, power, and test tools and equipment. May redesign optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems for incorporation on existing manufacturing equipment. May estimate labor and equipment costs and prepare requisitions as required. Requires 3+ years of relevant technical experience, which may include a combination of practical experience and applicable training, education, or certification. Requires full job knowledge of production-related systems and procedures obtained through prior work experience or education. No Minimum education requirement Nice to Have Experience supporting or working with industrial controls systems in a manufacturing or automation environment Familiarity with PLCs, including troubleshooting, programming support, or process interaction Exposure to robotics and automated production equipment Understanding of automation systems and how they support manufacturing efficiency, quality, and uptime Ability to collaborate with controls, engineering, maintenance, and operations teams on equipment or process improvements Experience working around complex automated machinery or highly technical manufacturing equipment Knowledge of automation-related problem solving in a production environment For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required. PR) locations (USD):$59,200.00 - $88,800.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP). The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
