This position reports to: Energy & Carbon Senior Consultant __ Your role and responsibilitiesAs Junior Consultant for the Energy & Carbon Service (ECS) Business Line within the Electrification Service Division, you will play a hybrid role at the intersection of consulting, business development, and commercial. You will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new opportunities, shaping customer engagements, and leading the consultative interactions of as-a-Service offerings. Your mission is to lead the front end of the customer journey—from opportunity origination and qualification through to commercial structuring and project handover—while also managing long-term customer relationships. You will serve as a trusted advisor to key accounts, ensuring ongoing alignment with customer goals and maximizing lifetime value. Working closely with internal teams, external partners, and investors, you will coordinate opportunity development efforts across all stakeholders and be accountable for delivering against business growth targets. Key Responsibilities:Identify and qualify new target customers and businesses in Australia aligned with ECS business line's offering and growth strategy Lead consultative advisory engagements, shaping solution proposals that address customer sustainability, energy, and operational goals Structure and negotiate As-A-Service contracts with customers in collaboration with legal, finance and insurance teams Maintain and grow long-term customer relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring alignment with evolving customer needs Create and manage Capture Teams for target opportunities, defining action plans and owners to secure orders Support Australian go-to-market planning and business development, including customer segmentation, lead generation, and sales enablement activities Deliver against business growth targets through coordinating opportunity development efforts and accountability for business outcomes Lead negotiations of legal documents, commercial terms and conditions, and partnership/JV/MOU agreements Our team dynamicsWhile initially focusing on energy storage solutions, you will also work across net-zero strategies, investment planning and management, distributed energy resources (DERs), energy procurement strategies, and other innovative contracting and financing models. As a small end-to-end organization, the ECS cross-functional team will include product management, business development, and project management capabilities, leveraging the resources of the broader EL Service Division and working closely with external partners. You will operate within a collaborative, multicultural environment where coordination and collaboration with local and regional operations across multiple regions are essential to successful execution. Qualifications for the roleRequired: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Business, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus; MBA is an advantage Proven experience in a consultative commercial approach, business development, or solution selling in the energy, sustainability, or infrastructure sectors in an international business environment Strong understanding of energy systems, including distributed energy resources (DERs), energy procurement, and electrification strategies Demonstrated ability to structure and negotiate complex commercial agreements such as Energy Services Agreements (ESAs) or Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build trusted relationships at all levels; fluent in English Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, particularly in evaluating energy economics and customer value propositions Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional and multicultural teams Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage Willingness to travel globally as needed Preferred: Experience working with or within investor-backed or performance-based energy service models Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and funding mechanisms related to energy transition and decarbonization Background in managing long-term customer relationships and strategic accounts Experience in thought leadership, including public speaking, publishing, or industry engagement More about usWithin the Electrification Service Division, the new Energy & Carbon Services (ECS) business line combines advisory, advanced electrification and decarbonization solutions with as-a-Service models to empower commercial and industrial businesses to reduce emissions, optimize energy use, and build resilient, future-proof operations.
