A Day in the LifeAs Senior EHS Specialist, you will play a vital role in deploying and embedding Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and procedures in line with country regulations and Medtronic’s global standards. You will perform workplace and specific risk assessments — covering areas such as ionizing radiation, ergonomics, manual handling, driver safety, fire protection, PPE, biological agents, and chemical safety—for both onsite and field-based operations. Based out of Prague, scope for the EHS position will be Commercial, DC, as well as field, sales and service employees working frequently at hospital settings in CEE Central & South Countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria & Serbia). Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs across the Czech Republic and CEE Central & South region, ensuring compliance with local regulations, Medtronic standards and corporate objectives Drive key risk management initiatives including driver safety, ionising radiation, biohazards, ergonomics, emergency preparedness and workplace safety Conduct workplace risk assessments covering chemical and biological agents, fire safety, radiation, PPE, manual handling, display screen equipment and ergonomics Monitor EHS performance, prepare management reports, track metrics and develop improvement plans to strengthen compliance and safety outcomes Lead EHS incident reporting, investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions Deliver EHS training and awareness programs, facilitate employee engagement activities and promote a positive EHS culture across the organization Partner with business leaders, regional stakeholders and external authorities to provide EHS expertise and support environmental sustainability initiatives. Required Knowledge and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field, including chemistry, biology, engineering, environmental, industrial hygiene and/or safety Qualification as an occupational safety specialist Expert written and spoken local language Fluent written and spoken English language Good skills in planning & coordinating, communicating & influencing, achieving milestones, resolving issues Able to work in a cross functional and multinational environment; culturally aware Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently Good Presentation skills Strong judgment and business acumen Ability to prioritize; clear thinking. Health & Safety experience within the medical device industry would be an advantage for this role. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a customer-focused attitude and be both diplomatic and assertive, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organisation. A positive and professional approach is essential, along with flexibility, strong analytical skills, and a proven ability to solve problems.
