As the Record to Report (R2R) Team Lead Product Cost and Accounting (PCA) RLT-LDC (Inventory Accounting & Reporting) - temporary, you will play a critical leadership role within the Record-to-Report organization, overseeing inventory accounting, product costing, financial reporting, and compliance activities for U.S. entities. You will serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for inventory accounting processes, SAP product costing, and financial reporting systems while partnering closely with business stakeholders, auditors, and the Novartis Operations Center in Mexico. This temporary role offers the opportunity to drive process excellence, strengthen financial controls, and ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting in a complex global environment. Job Description Lead month-end close activities for inventory accounting, ensuring the accurate representation of inventory-related balance sheet and income statement accounts Oversee account reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, inventory analyses, and write-off assessments to ensure compliance and financial accuracy Manage the Novartis Product Margin Reporting (NPMR) process, including cost analysis, inventory reporting, and financial data uploads Lead SAP product costing activities, including costing cycles, budget costing processes, and inventory valuation analysis Manage inventory reserve processes, product revaluations, devaluations, and inventory-related journal entries Collaborate with business stakeholders, auditors, Group FRA, and NOCC teams to resolve inventory accounting and reporting matters Ensure adherence to Novartis Accounting Manual (NAM), financial control requirements, audit expectations, and service delivery commitments while driving continuous improvement initiatives Essential Requirements Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field Minimum 5 years of experience in Financial Reporting, Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Cost Accounting, Audit, or Record-to-Report functions Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, inventory accounting, financial reporting requirements, and financial control frameworks Advanced experience with SAP and financial reporting platforms, including inventory and product costing processes Fluent English communication skills with strong stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities Desirable Requirements Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification and experience leading ERP implementations, finance transformation initiatives, or inventory process optimization projects Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion Novartis is committed to building an outstanding, inclusive work environment and diverse teams representative of the patients and communities we serve.
