At the Sample Prep and Analysis (SPA) group, we develop and maintain software solutions that automate the operation of Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEMs). Our technology enables customers in the semiconductor industry to identify manufacturing defects, accelerate research, and improve the reliability, performance, and energy efficiency of next-generation semiconductor devices. What will you be working on? We are looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our development team and help ensure the quality and reliability of software used to automate and optimize the operation of Electron Microscopes. In this role, you will work closely with software engineers, product owners, system architects, and domain experts to verify new functionality, design and execute test scenarios, automate testing activities, and help identify quality risks early in the development process. As an integral member of an Agile team, you will contribute to delivering robust software solutions that control highly sophisticated scientific instruments with nanometer precision. This is a unique opportunity to combine software quality engineering, test automation, and collaboration with experts in electron microscopy, image processing, and semiconductor applications. Your work will directly contribute to solutions used by leading semiconductor manufacturers to develop and produce the world’s most advanced chips and memory technologies. Responsibilities: Participating on all phases of product development cycle as SQA engineer. Support agile team in collaboration, problem solving, so that team can deliver high quality, innovative software on time. Support root cause analysis and help drive issue resolution. Develop and sustain relationships with vendors and joint development partners that support and accelerate the team’s development activities. Guard the software quality, development processes and their implementation in the organisation. Validating accurate functionality of product features Verifying bug fixes Maintaining documentation connected to testing Preparing SQA recommendation reports Identify risks during execution and help with their mitigation. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field required 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, software testing, or quality engineering. Experience working in Agile software development environments. Experience with test automation and modern software testing practices is highly desirable. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Strong written and verbal communications skills Ability to use data and metrics to identify and address problems and drive continuous improvement Focus on quality and robustness Coding basics The ability to use an AI assistant to generate code is highly valued Desire and ability to work in an international context and diverse R&D team that is multi-disciplinary Highly motivated teammate with a strong desire for continuous learning and broadening knowledge base. A love of science and a desire for continuous learning Desire to learn how to work with high-end hardware equipment Experience with API testing, including RESTful services and tools such as Swagger / OpenAPI Solid understanding of general application testing principles (functional, regression, exploratory) Practical knowledge of at least one web automation framework or test driver, such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress What technologies are we using?
