About the job: Role purpose The Finance Analyst supports financial planning, control, forecasting and management reporting activities across the Asia region. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial information, preparing recurring management reports, supporting financial estimates, investigating variances and data discrepancies, and producing analysis for Finance management and governance forums such as ALCO. The analyst will also contribute to the standardization and automation of Finance processes, reducing manual reporting activities and improving the quality, consistency and accessibility of financial information. Key responsibilities Financial monitoring and control: Perform daily General Ledger updates and monitor income statement and balance-sheet movements. Review financial information in both reporting and local currencies. Investigate unusual account movements, accounting-code discrepancies and branch-level variances. Reconcile General Ledger information with operational, transactional and business-source data. Maintain appropriate controls, supporting documentation and audit trails for recurring Finance processes. Coordinate the resolution of data-quality issues with Finance, Operations, IT and relevant business teams. Forecasting and financial analysis: Prepare and update weekly income estimates. Compare actual and estimated results against the previous period, budget and forecast. Analyse regularization entries, commissions, interest-margin movements. Identify the main drivers behind financial-performance changes and prepare clear explanations for management. Support the preparation of regional outlooks and year-end projections. Provide timely financial analysis and commentary to Asia Finance and central Finance stakeholders. ALCO and governance support: Prepare financial information, analysis and presentation materials for regional and local ALCO meetings. Coordinate inputs from relevant Finance and business stakeholders. Validate balance-sheet, liquidity, funding, margin and income information before submission. Support follow-up actions arising from ALCO discussions and financial-governance reviews. Process improvement and automation: Document existing reporting processes, data sources, controls and responsibilities. Identify manual, repetitive or inefficient Finance activities suitable for automation. Support the automation of data extraction, reconciliation and report-production processes. Develop and maintain reporting solutions using Excel, Google Sheets and available Finance data platforms. Assist with the transition from manual report preparation toward automated dashboards and analytical reporting. Promote consistent reporting standards across Asian branches and Finance teams. Required qualifications and experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline. Relevant experience in FP&A, financial control, management reporting, accounting or banking Finance would be beneficial. Experience preparing financial forecasts, analysing variances and reconciling financial data. Good understanding of P&L statements, balance sheets, General Ledger structures and management accounting. Experience working with reporting platforms, databases or data-extraction tools. Knowledge of SQL, dashboarding or Finance-process automation would be advantageous. Professional proficiency in English. Experience working in an international or multi-country environment would be beneficial.
