Check us out on LinkedIn: Medtronic Pelvic Health As a Sr. Principal Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and verify web and mobile software solutions that advance Pelvic Health Therapies. Working in a highly regulated medical device environment, you will contribute to the full software development lifecycle - from requirements and architecture through implementation, testing, verification, and product release. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Systems, Electrical Engineering, Security, and Quality, to deliver safe, reliable, and innovative therapy solutions while ensuring compliance with medical device regulations and quality standards. Responsibilities may include but not limited to: Define and drive the technical vision, design and development of solutions that are a combination of web and mobile platforms. Serve as a subject matter expert in mobile application architecture, distributed systems, and modern web technologies. Lead technical evaluations, architecture reviews, and design decisions for strategic initiatives in collaboration with architects, system engineers and product owners Establish engineering standards, best practices, and development frameworks across teams Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements operating systems components, software tools and utilities. Determines systems software design requirements. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Generates systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures. May work across a variety of software lifecycle activities as determined by program needs. Must Have: Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience OR Masters degree with 8 years of relevant experience OR PhD with 6 years of relevant experience Nice To Have: Experience developing embedded software using C and C++. Strong knowledge of embedded systems design, low-level firmware development, device drivers, peripherals, and communication protocols. Experience developing software for medical devices or other regulated products, with a solid understanding of applicable software development processes and quality standards. Experience developing and debugging Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) embedded firmware, including wireless communication protocols, device connectivity, power optimization, and interoperability across mobile and embedded platforms. Experience partnering with Systems Engineering, Verification & Validation, Human Factors, Quality, and other cross-functional stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle. Experience authoring software requirements and translating them into comprehensive verification strategies, test designs, and test cases. Experience participating in the complete software development lifecycle, from planning and design through implementation, verification, and product release. Familiarity with regulated software development environments and industry standards for medical device software. Knowledge of Medtronic Neuro devices, programs, and associated software applications is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across cross-functional teams. For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required. Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$178,400.00 - $267,600.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
