DISCOVER IMPACTFUL WORK: As a Team Leader, Distribution at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll help achieve excellence in warehouse operations while contributing to global scientific advancement. Leading a team in our facilities, you'll ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant handling of vital materials that enable our customers to make breakthrough discoveries. This role combines operational leadership with process improvement to maintain our high standards of safety, quality, and service excellence. You'll coordinate daily warehouse activities, develop teams, and optimize processes through Lean methodologies and our Practical Process Improvement (PPI) framework. You'll collaborate across functions to ensure seamless operations while maintaining strict compliance with cGMP, safety regulations, and quality standards. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Meet and maintain team and distribution performance metrics. Lead teams within the designated area to achieve all departmental and business targets. Communicate and engage with the team and distribution leadership through daily management board meetings, ensuring awareness of business activities and understanding and addressing operational challenges that arise. Provide leadership/management support, including coaching, performance management development, training, issue resolution, and career development. Take ownership of safety initiatives, including incident investigations and reporting, safety walkthroughs, and continuous improvement activities. Track Same Day Ship (SDS) metric daily, analyze any misses, perform root cause analysis, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Support and maintain accurate key performance indicators, track trends, and implement standard processes. Support departmental programs in accordance with Quality System procedures. Support departmental audit readiness and for participating in internal and external quality audits. Provide role-model leadership in inspiring change and continuous improvement through Lean standard processes. Support inventory accuracy activities to achieve annual targets for the Bridgewater Site. Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies regarding hazardous materials packaging, storage, and shipping. Be flexible and adaptable to varying priorities throughout the day. Identify training and development requirements, establish, and maintain training programs for all staff in the team, ensuring individual records are kept up to date. HOW YOU WILL GET HERE:REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous warehouse experience and basic knowledge of warehouse management systems required. At least 2 year experience in supervising/overseeing the work of others. Good collaboration and interpersonal skills - the ability to lead, engage, and support others. Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, TEAMS, and Outlook. Knowledge of chemical storage and packing regulations would be an advantage. Strong analytical and organizational skills. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Please note that this role requires working in an office, traditional warehouse, and chemical manufacturing setting. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided, including safety glasses protection, hi-visibility outerwear, and closed-toed footwear. Prolonged periods of sitting may be required, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unaided is necessary. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
