Join Gilead and help create possible, together. Job Description Specific Job ResponsibilitiesPerforms specialized support tasks that require previous knowledge of department or company procedures. Operates with minimal supervision, exercises independent judgment in completing assignments, and complies with departmental procedures and Controller’s Manual. Examples of work performed may include:Preparing reports or forms. Maintaining records or files. Interpreting data. Resolving problems or promptly answering inquiries. Analyzing, verifying and accurately recording transactions to the appropriate records. Investigating and correcting entries as needed. Performing reconciliation of complex transactions. Specific Responsibilities - Accounts PayableReviews invoices for accuracy and completeness. Matches invoices with POs and receipts and obtains appropriate sign-offs for non-receipt POs and non-PO invoices. Enters invoices into the accounting system accurately and in keeping with established daily volume targets. Researches and resolves vendor and internal inquiries. Collects and disburses sales and use tax. May enter transactions to journals, ledgers and other records and generate reports. Reconciles vendor accounts. May perform other basic clerical duties associated with accounts payable. May liaise with HR, Payroll, Purchasing and Receiving regarding payment matters. Specific Responsibilities - Credit/CollectionsPrepares, reviews, and issues invoices. Collects credit records, processes credit applications, and checks credit references. Conducts initial research, gathers pertinent information, and analyzes results. Recommends credit limits based upon findings and company policy. Develops reports of delinquent accounts and requests payment. May perform other basic clerical duties associated with credit and collections. May reconcile difficult accounts. Specific Responsibilities - PayrollProcesses time cards, computes and processes wage and salary payments and related withholdings accurately and in keeping with established volume targets. Compiles, prepares and maintains accurate and timely payroll reporting and statistics for internal and external parties. Works with Payroll provider to ensure processing is in accordance with local requirements. Computes and disburses wages and salaries, deductions, taxes and other withholdings. Aides in recording and reconciling all payroll and benefit related balance sheet accounts. Works with Human Resources to ensure consistent and accurate flow of information to payroll and to correct any discrepancies. Calculates and processes special checks, reviews, edits and makes corrections and adjustments as needed. May enter and/or review data using Ceridian, STAR, and Gnet software or using information from written reports. May maintain vacation, sick leave and worker’s compensation records. KnowledgeKnowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting procedures. Must possess a working understanding of relevant laws and federal and state or local/country regulations related to the specialty of primary contribution. Good knowledge of integrated software product is necessary (Examples: JDE, STAR, Gnet, Gelco and CEOnet). Able to build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers. Able to handle the ambiguity that arises from time to time in a global organization in a multi-country environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required. Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required. Will require language skills relevant to the country supported. Must also be fluent in English (written and spoken). Specific Education and Experience Requirements4+ years of related experience. Diploma/Degree desirable. Partial Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA desired.
