Principal Product Engineer – Virtuoso Backend Flows

At Cadence, we hire and develop leaders and innovators who want to make an impact on the world of technology.We are looking for a Product Engineer to drive the development and customer adoption of advanced backend design flows in Cadence Virtuoso for leading-edge process nodes. This is a customer-facing role that combines physical design methodologies, design automation, and customer engagement. The position plays a key role in enabling efficient design implementation and influencing future product capabilities. We are looking for highly motivated and self-driven engineers with: Strong experience in custom IC backend design, layout, and signoff flows. Deep familiarity with Virtuoso layout environments and advanced-node methodologies. Experience with automation and scripting using SKILL, Python, Perl, or UNIX Shell. Ability to work directly with customers, understand technical challenges, and deliver effective solutions. Experience troubleshooting complex issues and collaborating with R&D teams. Strong communication, documentation, and training skills. BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 9+ years of relevant experience, or MS degree with 7+ years of relevant experience. The annual salary range for California is $136,500 to $253,500. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
