About the Team The Growth Support Team is a specialized internal readiness unit that enables the Chief Accounting Office (CAO) to scale seamlessly by providing expert coverage for critical system testing, extended leaves of absence, and peak volume periods, ensuring operational continuity while retaining institutional knowledge for long-term growth and process optimization. It operates as a global team with members in Costa Rica and India who collaborate closely across regions and time zones to support CAO priorities worldwide. The team supports multiple functional areas within CAO, such as Revenue Accounting and Variable Compensation; Corporate, Technical, and International Accounting; SOX and Internal Controls; and Finance Operations and Shared Services (which can include AR, AP, Procurement & Sourcing, Expenses and Corporate Card, Payroll, and Stock Administration). You will work closely with functional area leaders and SMEs to support critical workflows, testing efforts, and operational readiness activities. Key Responsibilities Service Delivery & Execution Perform day-to-day activities in line with internal controls, compliance requirements, and functional team standard operating procedures. Support key operational cycles such as period-close, high-volume processing (e.g., quarter-end, year-end, compensation cycles), and coverage for planned or unplanned absences. Assist with system-related activities within assigned processes (e.g., validating changes, supporting testing efforts, and transitioning work into business-as-usual). Ramp quickly on new assignments, systems, and workflows, adjusting daily tasks and priorities to respond to changing business needs. Provide proactive status updates on workload, progress against deliverables, and emerging risks or issues. Collaborate effectively with global teams across time zones, ensuring alignment on priorities and expectations. Process Stewardship & Optimization Own and maintain process documentation for assigned activities, including creating or updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and checklists. Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, or improve processes and raise recommendations to functional leaders and the Growth Support Team. Support the implementation of agreed process changes (e.g., updates to templates, controls, handoffs, and metrics). Ensure thorough knowledge transfer at the end of each assignment so that process and system knowledge remains with the functional team. Professional Capability & Readiness Participate in required training, shadowing, and cross-functional learning sessions across CAO functional areas. Close technical and process knowledge gaps needed to successfully complete current and upcoming assignments. Use feedback from managers and stakeholders to adjust working methods and improve day-to-day performance. Support a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the Growth Support Team and the broader Accounting organization. About You Basic Qualifications: 5 + years of experience in accounting operations roles with high-volume processing, specifically in areas such as Record to Report, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Revenue Accounting, Purchasing/Procure-to-Pay, and/or Expenses within a corporate, shared services, or Global Capability Center environment. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business (related fields may be considered with strong, demonstrable accounting operations experience). Proven experience working in time-bound cycles (e.g., month-end, quarter-end, year-end, or compensation/commission cycles) with high accuracy and adherence to internal controls. Strong verbal and written communication skills What You’ll Bring: High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail in delivering high-quality work on tight timelines. Demonstrated ability to operate in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities and multiple stakeholders. Comfortable working with US and global partners across time zones. Flexibility and openness to rotate across different functional areas and departments as business priorities shift. A continuous improvement mindset focused on efficiency, quality, and control, and a willingness to challenge the status quo constructively. Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter. At Workday, we are committed to providing an accessible and inclusive hiring experience where all candidates can fully demonstrate their skills. If you require assistance or an accommodation at any point, please email accommodations@workday.com. Are you being referred to one of our roles?
