Partners with manufacturing and quality in the identification, definition and execution of projects and delivers technical requirements for the launch of products as well as continuous improvement of the product’s supply chain capabilities. Encourages and supports the identification and development of innovative solutions to problems and opportunities. Responsible for managing the technical projects of suppliers around capacity, capability and maintenance to improve supplier delivery, quality, and cost. Responsible for providing technical support for the approval/validation of changes/ improvements in supplier processes Responsible for providing technical support for the resolution of component quality issues. Responsible for determining tooling and spare parts requirements to maintain component supply Compliance with safety policies and procedures. • Ensures compliance with Environmental Management System (EMS) responsibilities Follow J&J, BWI Records Management Policies for Convenience Information. Records Retention Schedules, Training and Education, Document Hold Notices. Records Cleanout, Inactive Records and Information Management, Vital Records and third party vendor if applicable Oversees technical execution of projects. Provides comprehensive technical advice. Facilitates resolution of complex technical and operational problems. Promotes innovation initiatives for new products and ideas. Reviews and approves technical documentation to verify compliance to technical specifications and standards. Communicates with internal (manufacturing, quality, engineering) and external partners to coordinate and execute project plans. Assigns tasks according to projected scopes including compliance and quality improvement, cost reduction, cycle time reduction, capacity increase, raw material qualification, and launch preparation. Monitors smooth execution of plans and programs at lower levels and cross functionally. Allocates proper level of resources to facilitate attainment of project goals within established timeliness and budgets. Ensures departmental and company compliance with all local government and company regulations, policies and procedures for health, safety and environmental compliance. Analytical conflict resolution. Bilingual preferred English/Spanish. Material and process knowledge (Plastics, Metals and Electro-mechanic components). Six Sigma knowledge, lean manufacturing concepts, supply chain, preferred Manufacturing process knowledge. Business oriented. Possess ability in group dynamic, ability to work in a multifunctional manner and obtain collaboration between multiple functional teams Tool and fixture Design. Product / Process risk evaluation. Equipment automation design preferred. Interplant transfer. Testing methods development and validation. Process validation (change management). Design validation and verification (design control) RCA/ failure analysis/ problem resolution guide Technical process written skills. Regulatory recognition. Process characterization. Plastic Processes. Mechanical and Electrical abilities. Geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Product input/output knowledge (design intention). Polymer material knowledge. Electric, Electronic & PLC (problem resolution guide), Software. Preferable DFMA, PFMA, Control Plans. Development of assembly and equipment processes Development of calibrators and metrology Analytic problem solving SPC (Statistical Process Controls), QFD (Quality Functional Deployment), DOE (Design of Experiments), KTA (Kepnor Tregoe Analysis) knowledge, Six Sigma DEx Business orientation Technical strategy / planning Product / process development Training / experience in analytic problem-solving techniques Word processing programs, Excel spreadsheets, presentations, data base applications Statistical analysis software Software packages of Engineering applications (FEA, CAD, etc..) as required.
