About Abbott LingoLingo is Abbott’s continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) biosensor — a wearable that gives people real-time visibility into their glucose levels to help them make smarter decisions about nutrition, exercise, and overall wellbeing. We sit at the intersection of health technology and consumer lifestyle, and our social media presence reflects both. We speak to curious, health-motivated people who want to understand their bodies better — and we do it with honesty, energy, and purpose. The Social Media & Community Manager is Lingo’s primary voice across all owned social channels. This is a combined strategic and hands-on role: you will set the direction for how Lingo shows up in social, build and execute the content calendar, and foster a thriving, engaged community of Lingo users and advocates. You will partner closely with the Influencers & Creators manager and the Brand Ambassadors & Partnerships manager — both peers within the Brand & Creative team — to ensure social activity is connected to the full ecosystem of earned and owned media. You will report to the Senior Brand Manager and operate as a key contributor to Lingo’s overall brand narrative. This is the right role for someone who is equally energized by the big picture (“What story are we telling this quarter?”) and the detail work (“What do we post at 9am on Tuesday?”). You will own both. What You’ll Work On Social Media Strategy Develop and steward Lingo’s annual and quarterly social media strategy, aligned to brand, commercial, and community objectives. Define channel strategy across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, and emerging channels) — including tone of voice, content pillars, posting cadence, and platform-specific formats. Set measurable KPIs (reach, engagement rate, follower growth, share of voice, community sentiment) and report performance against them on a regular cycle. Translate brand campaigns and product launches into social-first storytelling, working with the Senior Brand Manager and Director of Brand & Creative to ensure alignment with the broader creative strategy. Monitor the competitive and cultural landscape to identify trends, white space opportunities, and platform algorithm changes that should inform strategy. Manage the social media budget — including paid amplification, content production tools, and community management platforms — responsibly within grade authority. Content Planning & Production Own the editorial content calendar end-to-end: ideation, briefing, scheduling, and publishing. Brief and collaborate with internal creatives, external agencies, and freelance creators to produce platform-optimized content — including static, video (Reels, YouTube Shorts), stories, and live formats. Write compelling copy and captions in Lingo’s brand voice; ensure all content passes legal, regulatory, and brand review processes. Partner with the Influencers & Creators manager (SW) to integrate creator content into the owned editorial calendar seamlessly. Partner with the Brand Ambassadors & Partnerships manager (AW) to amplify partnership and ambassador activations through social channels. Maintain a library of evergreen content assets ready for reactive or always-on publishing. Community Management Act as Lingo’s community voice: monitor, respond to, and engage with comments, DMs, mentions, and tags across all platforms daily. Build and deepen genuine relationships with Lingo’s most engaged community members — users sharing their Lingo journey, health enthusiasts, and wellness advocates. Identify and surface community insights (recurring questions, product feedback, sentiment shifts) to the broader Brand & Creative team and relevant cross-functional stakeholders. Develop and implement community engagement initiatives — challenges, UGC campaigns, Q&As, live sessions — that grow active participation and loyalty. Establish and enforce community guidelines; manage sensitive or escalating conversations with empathy and good judgment, escalating to medical affairs or legal where appropriate given the health technology context. Track and report on community health metrics alongside channel performance. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work collaboratively within the Brand & Creative team alongside the Influencers & Creators and Brand Ambassadors & Partnerships functions to present a unified external voice. Brief creative teams and production partners clearly and efficiently; manage feedback rounds without losing momentum. Serve as the subject matter expert on social media for the broader marketing organization — providing counsel on social integrations for product launches, clinical communications, PR moments, and retail activations. Liaise with legal, regulatory, and medical affairs teams to ensure all content meets Abbott compliance requirements; maintain a strong working knowledge of health claims guidelines. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 4–6 years of social media experience, with a demonstrable track record of managing multi-platform strategy and community for a consumer brand. Strong portfolio of social content — ideally including health, wellness, technology, or lifestyle categories. Proven ability to develop strategy and execute operationally without a large supporting team. Exceptional written communication skills; able to write in a clear, engaging, on-brand voice and adapt across platform formats and audience contexts. Hands-on experience with social media management, scheduling, listening, and analytics platforms (e.g., Sprinklr or equivalent). Data-literate: able to interpret social analytics, build meaningful reports, and translate data into strategic recommendations. Preferred Qualifications Experience collaborating with legal, regulatory, or compliance functions — particularly a comfort with navigating copywriting constraints in a regulated or health-adjacent environment. Experience in health technology, wellness, consumer devices, or a category where scientific credibility and consumer relatability must coexist. Familiarity with CGM, metabolic health, or wearable tech categories. Experience working alongside influencer or creator programs — even if not directly managing them. Demonstrated ability to grow an engaged community from an early-stage or emerging brand platform. Video scripting or on-camera presence; comfort directing short-form video shoots. Paid social amplification experience as a complement to organic strategy. Competencies & Attributes Strategic clarity with executional follow-through. Yo
