This position reports to: Workshop Manager __ ABB Motion Services Business Area, based in Eagle Farm, Queensland, is seeking multiple Trades Assistants to join our team on fixed-term contracts, with the potential for contract extensions and future permanent opportunities. As a Trades Assistant, you will support the delivery of high-quality repairs, maintenance, and service activities for ABB Traction Motor products. Working alongside experienced technicians and engineers, you will play an important role in ensuring timely and professional service delivery to our customers, while adhering to ABB Motion Services policies, procedures, and safety standards. The work model for the role is: Onsite #LI-Onsite Your role and responsibilities Delivery of high quality, technical and timely repairs, and maintenance to our customers through your technical expertise and superior customer service focus Assisting with assembly and disassembly of Traction Motors. Repairing and maintaining of ABB Traction Motor in ABB workshop, whist minimised rework and at a high attention to detail. Providing repairs & maintenance on Traction Motor product range based on your certification with a focus on ensure customer satisfaction, high quality reporting and without warranty issues Following the zero-harm policy and process and ensuring that you understand your responsibilities in line with the business expectations, ensure safe working procedures and practices are always followed Completing submission of time records & IB reporting and other relevant documentation, including expenses etc Ensuring time records submitted according to guidelines, completed weekly prior to the deadline Delivering quality and consistency of all service work performed, through compliance to Motion Services process Understanding and follow the ABB and Motion Services policies and procedures and all ABB tools and systems required for day-to-day activities Qualifications for the role Basic mechanical aptitude, with exposure to maintaining and repairing rotating equipment (Traction Motors desirable). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Well-organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks. Customer-focused with effective communication skills.
