Job description

Job Location SINGAPORE TC-BIOPOLIS Job Description About the role What if your science could improve the lives of billions of people, every day, across every stage of life? Skin and scalp biology is one of humanity's most universal and enduring dimensions of health and wellbeing. It accompanies us from infancy through adolescence, adulthood, and healthy aging, shaping how we protect and care for ourselves and our loved ones. The scientific challenges are equally diverse and compelling: supporting skin barrier health in early life, understanding the biological transitions of puberty, enabling superior shaving, grooming, and body care experiences, addressing lifelong scalp disorders such as dandruff, combating hair loss, understanding the biological impacts of menopause, and ultimately unlocking healthier skin and scalp aging throughout longer lifespans. New interventions such as GLP-1 therapies, regenerative medicine approaches, and hair transplantation are further transforming consumer needs and creating unprecedented opportunities for scientific discovery and innovation. The launch of the Skin Bioscience Discovery Accelerator (SBDA) at the P&G Singapore Innovation Center represents a bold commitment to seize this opportunity and shape the future of skin and scalp science. Combining world-class bioscience, advanced experimental systems, multimodal data, computational biology, and AI-enabled discovery, the Accelerator aims to create a fundamentally new engine for innovation in skin and scalp health. This is an invitation to ambitious scientists who want their work to matter beyond the laboratory. You will join a global ecosystem of scientific excellence and work closely with P&G Research Fellows, senior technical leaders, and internationally recognized experts located in Singapore and across P&G's worldwide R&D network. Through mentorship, collaboration, and exposure to some of the company's most accomplished innovators, you will tackle frontier scientific challenges while developing the skills and perspective needed to lead the next generation of discovery. If you are driven by scientific excellence, inspired by large-scale impact, and motivated to tackle some of the most important unanswered questions in human biology, we invite you to help shape the future of skin and scalp health for billions around the world. This 2-year Postdoc position will explore how scalp and follicle systems function as adaptive regenerative organs capable of maintaining health, resilience, and performance throughout life. By combining advanced biology and AI-enabled discovery, the program seeks to understand the biological mechanisms that govern regeneration, tissue renewal, and long-term follicle function. This is a unique opportunity to pioneer a new un derstanding of skin and scalp across the human healthspan. Key Responsibilities Pioneer new scientific frameworks and discovery approaches to advance understanding of biological performance, resilience, regeneration, and health across the lifespan. Design and execute high-impact research programs leveraging advanced biology, human-relevant experimental systems, multimodal data, and AI-enabled discovery. Work alongside P&G Research Fellows and global scientific leaders to shape scientific strategy and accelerate breakthrough discovery. Operate within a Design-Build-Test-Learn discovery environment, integrating experiments, computational approaches, and emerging technologies to drive continuous learning. Translate breakthrough discoveries into publications, intellectual property, external collaborations, and technology opportunities with global consumer impact. Job Qualifications PhD in Stem Cell Biology, Regenerative Medicine, Developmental Biology, Cell Biology, Tissue Biology, Skin Biology, Systems Biology, Computational Biology, or a related discipline. Recent PhD graduates or nearing completion or Scientists currently completing, or having recently completed, a postdoctoral appointment in a relevant field are also encouraged to apply. Demonstrated research excellence through high-quality publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Strong expertise in one or more relevant scientific domains, including: Hair follicle biology Stem cell and regenerative biology Tissue homeostasis and renewal Extracellular matrix and tissue architecture Developmental biology Cell signaling and systems biology Skin and epithelial biology Metabolism and tissue energetics Hands-on experience designing and executing complex experimental studies using advanced biological model systems. Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts across disciplines. Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience studying hair follicle biology, stem-cell niches, tissue regeneration, wound healing, or organ regeneration. Experience with advanced imaging technologies and quantitative image analysis. Experience generating and interpreting multi-omics datasets. Familiarity with computational biology, machine learning, systems biology, or AI-enabled biological discovery. Experience developing or applying advanced in vitro, ex-vivo, or complex engineered tissue models relevant for hair and follicle biology. Experience integrating biological, imaging, and computational datasets to generate mechanistic insights. Experience studying tissue aging, regenerative decline, inflammation, metabolism, or niche biology. Knowledge of scalp biology, hair cycling, hair loss disorders, regenerative medicine, or tissue remodeling. Ideal Candidate Profile We are particularly interested in scientists who: Are motivated by solving bold, high-impact scientific challenges rather than incremental research questions. Are fascinated by how living tissues regenerate, adapt, and maintain performance throughout life. Thrive in highly interdisciplinary environments spanning biology, data science, engineering, and artificial intelligence. Demonstrate creativity in connecting biological processes across scales, from stem cells and tissues to organ-level function. Are energized by building predictive scientific frameworks rather than studying isolated mechanisms. Are passionate about translating biological discoveries into meaningful consumer impact. Aspire to help establish new paradigms in regenerative biology and AI-enabled discovery. Are excited by the opportunity to shape the future of skin and scalp science and improve the lives of billions of consumers worldwide. What Will Make You Stand Out A track record of pioneering new biological models, methodologies, or scientific concepts. Experience studying stem-cell niches, regeneration, tissue renewal, or organ-level biology. Experience working at the interface of biology, computational science, and data-driven discovery. Experience developing predictive models of biological function or regenerative outcomes. Evidence of scientific leadership, innovation, and independent thinking. Demonstrated ability to transform complex biological observations into actionable hypotheses and predictive frameworks. A strong interest in regenerative biology, resilience, tissue maintenance, and biological performance. Enthusiasm for helping define the next generation of AI-enabled bioscience discovery.
