PositionAutomation Engineer Experience3–5 Years LocationChennai Employment TypeFull-Time Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in test automation and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks and test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of web, mobile, and API applications. The candidate should possess strong programming skills, automation expertise, and a passion for delivering high-quality software. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard automation tools. Build and enhance test automation frameworks for web, mobile, and API testing. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA teams to understand requirements and define test strategies. Execute automated test suites and analyze test results. Identify, log, and track defects through resolution. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and quality initiatives. Develop CI/CD-integrated automated testing solutions. Perform regression, functional, integration, and smoke testing. Create and maintain test documentation, reports, and metrics. Continuously improve automation coverage and testing efficiency. Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. 3–5 years of experience in Software Testing and Test Automation. Strong experience with automation tools such as:Selenium WebDriver Playwright or Cypress Appium (preferred for mobile testing) Proficiency in programming languages such as:Java Python JavaScript/TypeScript Experience in API testing using Postman, Rest Assured, or similar tools. Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies. Experience with version control tools like Git. Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI. Experience working with defect tracking tools like Jira. Preferred SkillsExperience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP). Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter. Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes. Understanding of BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow). Exposure to security testing practices. Key CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Nice to HaveISTQB Certification. Experience in enterprise-scale automation projects. Exposure to AI-assisted testing tools and automation frameworks.
