As our Legal and Compliance Manager based in Midrand, you will partner closely with key business leaders to navigate complex legal, regulatory, and data privacy landscapes. Joining our dedicated team, you will shape risk mitigation strategies and foster a culture of integrity that empowers us to deliver life-changing innovations to patients. The Opportunity Drive Legal Excellence: Provide expert legal advice, draft and negotiate commercial agreements, and manage contract lifecycles to protect corporate assets and intellectual property. Embed Compliance & Ethics: Implement, monitor, and continuously refine our compliance framework and risk mitigation strategies in alignment with statutory and governance requirements. Champion Data Privacy: Serve as a subject matter expert on data protection regulations (such as POPIA and PAIA), overseeing lawful personal information processing and data privacy risk management. Manage Regulatory & External Partnerships: Monitor legislative changes, interpret their impact on operations, and liaise with external law firms, regulatory bodies, and government officials. Cultivate an Ethical Culture: Design and deliver engaging compliance training and awareness programs across the organization to empower colleagues to act with confidence. Collaborate & Support Leadership: Partner with executive leadership on secretarial board operations, litigation management, and policy development within an open, team-oriented environment. Who You Are as an Ideal Candidate Qualified Legal Expert: You hold a Bachelor's degree in Law (NQF 7/8 or equivalent) and are an Admitted Attorney. Experienced Practitioner: You bring 4–8 years of post-admission experience in corporate law or legal practice, ideally with exposure to healthcare or pharmaceutical legislation. Regulatory & Privacy Savvy: You possess strong knowledge of corporate, labor, and privacy legislation (e.g., Companies Act, POPIA, PAIA) and commercial contract drafting. Strategic Communicator: You excel at translating complex legal concepts into clear, actionable advice for diverse stakeholders and external partners. Analytical & Collaborative: You demonstrate sound judgment, high integrity, and a proactive problem-solving mindset when navigating complex regulatory environments.
