Role Purpose: Support and equip the marketing, sales and commercial team with insight led strategy to build stronger customer partnership, drive growth and increase Alcon’s market share. Enable customer and category development across the Pharmacy, Optometry, Ecommerce and Grocery channels. Own, drive and execute various projects and processes related to customer and category development. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, Vision Care the CDM will Work directly with the team of Brand Managers, Key Account Managers, the wider commercial functions and our customers. The CDM will develop, lead and cultivate initiatives, projects and insights differentiate Alcon from its competitors and elevate our brands in market. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Driving trade and customer strategies, programs and initiatives specific to Vision Care’s Key customers and channels in Pharmacy, Optometry, Ecommerce and Grocery across ANZ Owning and driving the customer planning process In conjunction with other stakeholders, owning and driving the annual price promotional strategy and review Cultivating category and shopper insights as well as business analytics to build customer partnerships, drive category growth and market share for Alcon’s brands Ensuring category and shopper insights are being leveraged to drive strategy and be a part of annual brand planning process, in-line with company growth plans Driving development and continued evolution of the medium term customer and category strategy Elevating Alcon as the category partner of choice across all channels Developing solution oriented programs and campaigns which differentiate Alcon as a trade partner Lead the management of market research suppliers, contracts, and budgets to ensure effective delivery of insights and value DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Indirectly lead cross functional team members in development and implementation of customer and category strategies Ensures execution of plans through regular communication and interaction with the sales team, key account team and in market visits Develop and evolve Alcon’s customer, category and channel strategies Elevate Alcon’s brand presence through evolution of POS material Formulate content, insights and ‘story’ for category reviews, Joint Business Planning sessions and ad-hoc customer reviews and assist KAMs with customer delivery Owning POS and ‘at shelf’ effectiveness Drive ‘go-to-market strategy’ for NPD Evolve Alcon’s current shelf education Develop and execute Alcon’s ‘perfect store’ concept Own and execute the use of planogram and shopper research platform, ‘Store lab’ Communicates key strategies, insights, and initiatives between field and internal teams. Gains alignment across a matrix environment to support goal achievement Analyses channel and customer trends and develops insights for sales, key accounts and marketing Provide input into ANZ marketing strategies and activities. Seeks out and secures funds from sales, key accounts or marketing to support channel and customer efforts. Maximises Gross to Nett and trade spend investment Organises, analyses and draws conclusions from insights from various data sources and translates findings for application at the channel and customer level Ability to devise and deliver persuasive presentations, based on data driven insights and facts, to gain support for business strategies and /or initiatives Attendance of trade shows Lead the management of market research suppliers, contracts, and budgetsEducation/Qualifications : A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree is required. Strong customer/category development and or trade marketing experience. Sales and key account management ideally in Pharmacy, Healthcare, OTC, FMCG or Grocery. Skills/Experience: Minimum: 3-5 years’ experience in either Pharmacy, Healthcare, OTC, FMCG or Grocery Product management and customer facing experience is required Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment Solid strategic skills, pragmatic approach and execution focused.
