Job Summary The Assistant Manager Tax – Pakistan will play a pivotal role in managing direct and indirect tax matters for GSK Pakistan, ensuring all statutory compliances are delivered accurately, on time and in line with local tax regulations and global tax policies. This role spans tax filings, reconciliations, audits, transfer pricing documentation, global reporting, stakeholder engagement, and operational tax advisory, while contributing to strong tax governance, effective controls and a culture of compliance. Key Responsibilities Ensure all statutory tax compliances are completed within required timelines, including preparation and submission of information relating to tax notices. Prepare monthly sales tax returns for FBR, SRB and PRA, and support related reconciliations, follow-ups, and issue resolution. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and month-end tax pack activities in line with closing timelines and reporting requirements. Prepare quarterly advance tax and income tax workings / computations and support the preparation and review of the annual income tax return. Support income tax and sales tax audits and assessments, including data preparation, analysis, and coordination with tax advisors / external counsel. Prepare and review tax payment workings, including stamp duty, sections 236A / 236G and vendors’ income tax withholding calculations. Prepare, maintain, and update transfer pricing documentation and global tax reporting deliverables. Prepare budget proposals and tax-related commentary, highlighting changes affecting the industry and updating global tax teams on current and emerging tax developments. Build and maintain strong relationships and communication channels with internal and external stakeholders, and support periodic tax meetings on budget, compliance and tax changes. Provide practical tax advisory support to business teams, covering operational tax matters, quarterly risk questionnaires, and other ad hoc tax-related issues. Education, Experience & Skills Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, or MBA (Finance). Strong technical understanding of direct and indirect tax compliances, tax computations, reporting, and advisory matters. In-depth knowledge of local tax laws, compliance requirements, and practical tax operations. 3–5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably with a multinational company or a Big 4 accounting firm. Demonstrated ability to independently manage routine tax compliances, reconciliations, audits, reporting, and stakeholder coordination under the guidance of the Tax Lead. Solid knowledge of direct and indirect tax laws, withholding tax, sales tax return filing, tax audits, and transfer pricing documentation. Proficiency in MS Excel and strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills, with high attention to detail and a focus on quality and compliance.
