Meet the Team In this dynamic, customer-focused role, you'll join our Service Provider Solutions Engineering team, partnering closely with Account Executives to deliver innovative solutions for our customers. As a trusted technical advisor, you'll help Service Providers achieve their network transformation goals by designing and recommending solutions that align with their business priorities. You'll showcase Cisco's latest innovations through technical presentations, demonstrations, solution design, Proof of Concept (PoC) activities, and the development of Bills of Materials (BoMs). You'll collaborate with global product specialists, Engineering teams, and Customer Experience teams to deliver positive outcomes throughout the customer lifecycle. Your Impact As a Solutions Engineer, you'll work closely with customers to understand their business goals, identify opportunities, and develop solutions that address their technical and strategic needs. You'll communicate the value of Cisco's technology and solutions to a variety of audiences, from technical practitioners to executive leaders, helping customers make informed decisions with confidence. In this consultative role, you'll provide architectural guidance across Cisco's portfolio and collaborate with internal specialists to drive successful solution adoption. You'll also have opportunities to expand your expertise by exploring emerging technologies, industry trends, and evolving Service Provider market needs. Minimum Qualifications We recognize that skills and experience can be gained in many ways. If your background doesn't align perfectly with every qualification listed, we still encourage you to apply. 5+ years of customer-facing technical experience, ideally in pre-sales, solution architecture, consulting, or related roles within Service Provider or telecommunications environments. Experience designing, implementing, or supporting technologies across one or more of the following areas: Service Provider networking, routing and switching, automation, network security, or data center solutions. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Relevant industry certifications (such as CCNP or CCIE) or equivalent practical experience. Experience working within the telecommunications industry and an understanding of the scale, performance, and reliability requirements of Service Provider networks. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a pre-sales, consulting, or customer-facing technical role with the ability to connect technical solutions to business outcomes and customer value. Interest in learning and applying emerging technologies, particularly in AI, cybersecurity, automation, and cloud networking. A collaborative and consultative approach, with the ability to take ownership of initiatives and contribute to architectural discussions. Strong business acumen and the ability to understand customer priorities, industry trends, and market drivers. Comfortable working across teams, building relationships, and influencing outcomes in a fast-paced environment. Why Cisco?
