Position Summary/Responsibilities: Maintenance Engineering Planner in Loughborough, will be responsible for the compliance elements of the site infrastructure and building. In addition, he/she will be managing the site CMMS, Maintenance Planning, Store management in support of the electrical and mechanical technicians and will be in charge of supporting and executing of capital projects within the sites budget. About the Role We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Maintenance Engineering Planner to join our UK Loughborough site. This is a key role within the engineering function, responsible for coordinating maintenance planning activities across the production footprint to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You will play a central role in moving the site from reactive maintenance practices toward a planned and condition-based maintenance culture. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, stores, contractors, and leadership teams, you will ensure maintenance tasks are effectively planned, scheduled, recorded, and completed to the highest operational and safety standards. This role is ideal for someone with strong planning skills, CMMS expertise, engineering awareness, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. How You Will Make an Impact As Maintenance Engineering Planner and Store Admin, you will directly contribute to: Improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime Increasing planned maintenance compliance and reducing reactive breakdowns Enhancing engineering productivity through effective scheduling and resource planning Strengthening statutory, safety, and ISO compliance standards Improving spare parts control and engineering cost visibility Developing accurate data and KPI reporting to support business decisions Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across engineering operations Main Responsibilities: Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Own and coordinate all planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site. Develop weekly and shutdown maintenance plans aligned with production priorities. Liaise with manufacturing planners to ensure downtime requirements are understood and scheduled effectively. Allocate engineering work orders through the CMMS system based on priorities, skillset, and available resources. Monitor progress of planned work and follow up completion through daily/tier meetings. Support the transition toward predictive and condition-based maintenance strategies. CMMS & Data Control Act as site gatekeeper for the CMMS database, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Ensure all preventive, reactive, corrective, and contractor maintenance tasks are logged correctly from all relevant systems and portals. Maintain accurate asset trees, equipment hierarchies, and records for all site assets. Generate reports and analysis for breakdown trends, downtime losses, MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), MTTR (Mean Time To Repair), and other reliability KPIs. Ensure completion evidence, permits, risk assessments, and maintenance records are captured and stored appropriately. Engineering Stores & Spare Parts Good control over the engineering stores and spare parts control processes. Ensure correct stock levels are maintained for critical spares. Control stock locations, stock accuracy, reordering, and stock-taking activities. Align spare parts records with CMMS asset and maintenance data. Monitor spend on engineering consumables and spare parts. Contractor & Compliance Coordinate and support contractor activities on site. Assist with contractor selection, onboarding, and performance management. Ensure contractors comply with site safety standards, permit-to-work systems, and work scope requirements. Conduct site visits and monitor contractor work quality and progress. Support compliance activities including calibrations, statutory inspections, and regulatory records. Maintain records in support of ISO 9001 / QA KPI Reporting, documentation & Continuous Improvement Maintain and report engineering performance metrics including: PM completion rates Schedule compliance Backlog levels Breakdown trends Safety action close-out rates Drive lean, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives within engineering stores and planning systems. Support engineers with maintenance paperwork, procedures, permits, safety documentation, and planning processes. Essential Skills & Experience Experience in maintenance planning within a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment. Strong working knowledge of CMMS systems (e.g. SAP PM, Maximo, Ultimo, CMMS, Infor, Pirana or similar). Understanding of mechanical and electrical maintenance operations. Experience scheduling maintenance work in a production environment. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with ability to meet critical deadlines. Excellent communication skills with confidence engaging at all levels. Competent in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools. Strong attention to detail and data accuracy. Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and contractor control. Desirable Knowledge of reliability engineering principles (MTBF, MTTR, RCA). Experience managing engineering stores / spare parts inventory. Experience with Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement / 5S. NEBOSH / IOSH or relevant H&S awareness training.
