Job Description The Biologics Process Research & Development organization within our Company Research Labs is responsible for developing the drug substance manufacturing processes for our Company's biologics pipeline. We work closely with colleagues in Discovery, Pre-clinical, and Early Development to rapidly develop processes for various biotherapeutics and efficiently produce material to supply clinical trials. We are also responsible for commercial process development, and development and implementation of new technologies. We work with our partners in our Company Manufacturing Division to commercialize and launch new products. This role will support the Next Generation Biologics (NGB) facility, which will be a premier, state-of-the-art facility, that is a key part of our Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) hub at our site headquarters in Rahway, NJ. This facility will be fully online in the next few years, both in terms of facility construction and organizational realization. The GMP facility is designed for multi-product operations with flexible operating suites, which can adjust as the clinical pipeline demands change. It can meet all historic, currently existing, and cutting-edge biologics program demands from supporting development to pilot scale, small and large scale potent material handling, and the ability to integrate new technologies and cell-line platforms. The Sr. Specialist - Warehouse Operations will support the NGB Operations Leadership team, reporting to the Associate Director, Supply Chain Lead. Job Responsibilities: Lead daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, staging, kitting and shipping in accordance with procedures to support process operations. Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting, reconciliation, and inventory controls. Author and revise warehouse related SOPs and Quality Risk Assessments. Manage GMP-compliant storage of ambient, refrigerated, frozen, and cryogenic materials. Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, safety, and quality requirements. Support deviations, impact assessments, investigations, CAPAs, audits, and inspection readiness activities. Co-ordinate with central warehouse for incoming material activities and oversee material movements between warehouse and manufacturing. Drive proper and effective use of SAP system to reflect material movements. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Maintain a strong floor presence during GMP operations. Manage warehouse personnel and coach Junior team members in the development and required training procedures. Provide timely performance feedback and foster culture of trust for open dialogue. Provide off-hours, weekend, holiday, and on-call support after site is operational. Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemical/biochemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, or related discipline with minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Required Experience & Skills: Minimum 5 years of experience in a GMP-regulated warehouse operations, logistics or supply chain. Working knowledge of warehouse material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and specialized handling equipment used for GMP and temperature-controlled materials. Strong understanding of GMP requirements. Experience with handling cold chain materials and cold storage. Ability to train employees in technical, compliance, safety, and environmental procedures. Experience writing SOPs and managing warehouse deviations. Demonstrated initiative and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to support hands-on warehouse activities during escalations, startup activities, training, inventory events, and operational emergencies. Demonstrated experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Ability to drive and improve on warehouse KPIs. Demonstrated ability of SAP use for warehouse related functionalities and transactions. Ability to obtain and maintain certification for forklifts and other powered industrial trucks (PITs). Demonstrated ability to work and communicate both independently and as a part of a varied team. Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, scoop, squat, twist, climb steps, and don & wear required PPE. Preferred Experience and Skills: Experience with any of Lean methodologies, Veeva. Strong communication skills and experience with GMP materials. Ability to prioritize tasks. Experience with Root cause analysis. Demonstrated ability for attention to detail and to drive improvements and inspire others. Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.
