Job Description Responsible for training, mentoring, quality control, and technical assistance of material damage attributed to Specialty Vehicles. Directly handles assigned specialty vehicle material damage claims generally of a complex nature. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Handles complex material damage claims with little or no supervision Conducts Training in areas of Specialty Vehicle material damage handling/appraising Is a subject matter expert in areas of Specialty Vehicle material damage for staff and vendors Has and maintains a high level understanding of National General Specialty Vehicle policies. Develops and maintains a basic understanding of the insurance industry and the organizational relationships of the company Able to determine subrogation or fraud potential with Specialty vehicle claims Receive claim assignments and document all appropriate information Review photos thoroughly and determines repairability and complete assessment and or, total loss evaluation Evaluate settlement alternatives by reviewing regulatory compliance and fair claims practices; makes decisions on best option Identify subrogation or fraud potential based upon physical evidence and refer to the appropriate claims representative when potential exists Stay informed of changes in the collision repair industry including statutory and regulatory changes as they relate to specialty vehicle material damage When appropriate, make contact with customers to discuss repair process, repair operations/techniques, settlements, extend an offer to appropriate party; document all file activity and payment/settlement information in file notes clearly outlining basis for settlement Conducts file quality reviews of appraisal channels including staff, independent appraisers, DRP shops, other vendors. Take ownership of any issue, problem, or error that could potentially impact the policyholder and or loss participant Serve as a subject matter expert for Specialty Claims staff (field and technicians), other field staff, and Specialty vendors. Complete accurate estimates with little to no supervision up to $300,000 Ability to navigate and complete estimates of greater amounts as necessary Ability to actively participate in CAT events Ability to travel and conduct field staff ride alongs, site audits, and training Minimum Skills and Competencies: The skill listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability to be successful in this role. Estimating experience with an automated estimating system Accurately assess damage on RV’s and/or Commercial vehicles involving significant damage. Hands on training in a repair facility or training center specific to Specialty Vehicles Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines Solid command of the claims policies and procedures; exhibits basic interpretation of policies & procedures in resolving claims Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills General understanding of the repair and replacement of property damages, to include mechanical components of a vehicle and other potential exposures Ability to identify, investigate, and conclude coverage investigations related to material damage General knowledge of unibody/ conventional frame damages and repair processes Comply with the company material damage guidelines Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively and collaborate with others. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) · High degree of initiative, mature judgment, and discretion Ability to resolve conflicts and empathize with customers is critical Strong negotiation skills Ability to develop and deliver material damage training both remotely and in person Additional Qualifications That May Support Success in This Role: Adjuster license in your home state or state that requires examination and CE Previous material damage claims handling experience Management experience in a repair facility Has a general understanding of insurance law as it relates to claims Fraud Training RV Estimatics, RV Policy, Motorcycle Estimatics, and Heavy Equipment Estimating proficiency I-CAR Certification Other Specialty Certifications such as RVIA/RVDA, RVTA, ASE Supervisory Responsibilities • This job does not have supervisory duties. #LI-JH1 Skills Business Acumen, Business Management, Conflict Resolution, Insurance Claims, Material Damage Claims, Quality Management, Relationship Management, RV Insurance, Time Management, Training Compensation Compensation offered for this role is 37.98 - 52.70 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
