Airbus Helicopters, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented NDT Quality Inspection Specialist to join our Quality Assurance team. In this high-impact role, you will serve as a critical defense line for flight safety, performing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to inspect, evaluate, and certify structural components and sub-assemblies. Your Challenges: Part Processing: 40% Application of the NDT methods allowing inspection and/or certification of parts health concerning cracks. Understand and implement the work instructions in the methods, which they are qualified according to approved written instructions (Inspection Document (DI), technical sheet (FT), Work Card (CT), Inspection process sheet, etc.). Treat the parts, detail the results Carry out any preparation vital of the parts before or after test according to work instructions Carry out interpretations and evaluations of specific product or product type for acceptance or rejection, while following an approved instruction. Ensure areas to be inspected, the position of check phases and associated documents for the preparation of instruction files (DI), Technical Sheets (FT) and/or Work Cards (CT). Qualification of the room and equipment: 30% Maintain NDT equipment Collection of reference specimens Perform concentration checks Perform contamination checks Count & Surface Preparation of Parts: 20% Validate inclusion of parts required to be processed Degrease all parts by detergent wash and Ultrasonic Water rinse all parts with Ultrasonic 4. Documentation: 10% Complete maintenance records Certify pass/fail for inspection of all parts Update SAP labor tracking Your Boarding Pass: (Required for consideration) Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent experience Have two (2) or more years of proven experience doing NDT testing in at least one NDT method or 4 years as certificated aviation maintenance technician (AMT) on aircraft components systems A&P license in addition to required licenses/certifications or able to obtain a repairman certificate within 3 months of employment Be qualified to advise and perform inspections in the method required. Ability to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Level III that they are familiar with and can perform the applicable examinations using suitable calibration blocks and written procedures prepared for examination of articles within the first 90 days. Have the ability to apply detailed techniques to products or parts within the barrier of the qualifications requirements. Ability to read and understand technical and regulatory documentation. Must know the applications and limits of various NDT methods used to locate defects in aircraft structure and components. Proficient in Microsoft Office or G Suite Travel Required: 5% Domestic and International Citizenship: Authorized to Work in the US Physical Requirements: ● Onsite: 95% , Grand Prairie, TX ● Vision: ● Able to pass an examination to ensure near vision of at least one eye, either corrected or uncorrected, such that the individual can read Snellen equivalent of 20/25 (Jaeger #1). The examination must be on a periodic basis, not to exceed 1 year. ● Able to distinguish and differentiate between colors necessary for the inspection method for which qualification is sought. Color vision testing need only be accomplished one time, usually at the initial vision examination. ● Able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings (daily) ● Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. (daily) ● Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. 10% of each day ● Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Consistently throughout the day ● Carrying: Consistently throughout the day ● Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Consistently throughout the day ● Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Consistently throughout the day ● Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.10% of each day ● Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Consistently throughout the day ● Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. Consistently throughout the day ● Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. Between shops as required. ● Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
