Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Director, Commercial Operations role will make an impact: Key responsibilities for this role include: Lead end-to-end commercial execution for CDMO opportunities, including proposals, PSDs, SOWs, pricing, contracts, and commercial change orders. Partner with Business Development and customers to clarify project scope, requirements, assumptions, pricing, commercial terms, and changes while supporting a consistent and professional customer experience. Lead cross-functional coordination with technical, operational, quality, regulatory, supply chain, finance, legal, and program management teams to gather and integrate required inputs. Translate complex technical and operational information into clear, accurate, and commercially sound customer-facing documentation and communications. Manage proposal and SOW/PSD development, including timelines, deliverables, approvals, document control, revisions, and submission readiness. Coordinate pricing development and commercial reviews, ensuring alignment among scope, cost assumptions, pricing, customer requirements, capacity, risk, and approved commercial terms. Coordinate contract and MSA review activities with appropriate functional stakeholders and ensure alignment between contractual commitments, pricing, scope, and customer requirements. Lead the evaluation and coordination of customer scope changes and commercial change orders, ensuring incremental work is appropriately scoped, priced, approved, documented, and communicated. Maintain visibility into commercial milestones, proposal commitments, change orders, billing triggers, risks, dependencies, and revenue-related activities in partnership with Finance, Program Management, Operations, and Business Development. Identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, risks, and unresolved issues and drive timely resolution or escalation through established governance channels. Serve as the primary internal commercial liaison between Business Development and operational functions, facilitating cross-functional reviews, decision-making, and accountability. Develop and improve scalable commercial processes, workflows, templates, controls, systems, and reporting to improve responsiveness, compliance, and operational efficiency. Support Revenue Operations governance, leadership reporting, continuous improvement, and the development of Commercial Operations capabilities and team members. Performs other duties as assigned. The minimum qualifications for this role are: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, engineering, life sciences, supply chain, or a related field required. MBA or advance degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in Commercial Operations, Proposal Management, Business Operations, Contract Management, Revenue Operations, Program Management, Finance, or Business Development within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CDMO, CMO, CRO, or life sciences industry. 5+ years’ experience in a supervisory and management level capacity is required. In addition, must have held a number of positions with increasing levels of responsibility. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to address issues appropriately with senior management, peers and subordinates in an exceedingly diverse environment. Well defined business development and negotiation skills. Computer literacy, including expertise with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other relevant software. Superior problem-solving abilities, intellectual curiosity and a propensity for dealing with complex issues in a practical, cost-effective manner. Strong understanding of pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, technology transfer, analytical services, packaging, and GMP environments; CDMO experience strongly preferred. Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to assess scope, pricing, risk, and business impact. Proficiency with CRM, ERP, contract management, workflow, and reporting systems. Demonstrated leadership skills and interpersonal effectiveness. Knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing/operational excellence, standardization, is preferred. Experience leading and/or supporting Kaizen events, VSM and problem-solving initiatives.
