The Senior Manager, Facilities Management – Americas is responsible for the end‑to‑end operational delivery of Facilities Management services across the Americas region, supporting DePuy Synthes sites spanning mature and emerging markets. This role is also responsible for strategic program delivery across the region with particular focus on several key strategic sites within the DS network Americas region. This role translates regional FM strategy into site‑level execution, ensuring safe, reliable, compliant, and cost‑effective hard and soft FM service delivery aligned to DS standards and Project Osprey separation requirements. Operating as the primary Americas execution lead, this role partners closely with site leaders, regional EHS&S, Quality, Real Estate, Project Delivery, and outsourced service providers to manage daily operations, service performance, risk, and continuity across the Americas portfolio. Key Responsibilities: Facilities Operations & Service Delivery: Lead the day‑to‑day FM service delivery across Americas sites, ensuring consistent execution of global FM standards while adapting to local regulatory, labor, and infrastructure requirements. Oversee hard and soft FM services, including building operations, maintenance, utilities, janitorial, security coordination, and life‑safety systems. Serve as the primary escalation point for Americas FM operational issues impacting safety, compliance, or business continuity. Vendor & Performance Management: Manage regional FM service providers and site‑level vendors, driving performance against SLAs, KPIs, and service specifications. Support regional contract execution, service transitions, and performance remediation in partnership with Global FM and Procurement. Identify continuous improvement and cost‑optimization opportunities across the Americas FM portfolio. Oversee strategic program delivery across several DS key strategic site within the Americas network (inclusive of site densification programs, space allocation initiatives, branding programs, etc.) Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and documentation across diverse Americas legal, safety, environmental, and labor frameworks. Partner with EHS&S, Quality, Security, and Legal to manage operational risk, incident response, and inspection readiness. Support participation in crisis management and business continuity activities for Americas sites. Project Osprey & Portfolio Transitions: Execute FM readiness activities for site separations, transfers, new locations, and work‑from‑home transitions under Project Osprey. Provide FM input into capital projects, site transitions, and lease events, ensuring operational requirements are embedded early. Coordinate FM support for site onboarding/offboarding and stabilization activities. Stakeholder & Site Leadership Partnership: act as a trusted operational partner to Americas site leaders, providing guidance on facilities capabilities, constraints, and risk tradeoffs. Support alignment between Global FM standards and local site execution, escalating structural gaps or constraints to the Director as needed. Data, Reporting & Operational Insights: maintain accountability for FM data accuracy, including asset records, service performance metrics, and issue tracking. Contribute to regional dashboards, reporting, and insights that inform portfolio‑level decisions and leadership reviews. Scope & Decision Making: Execution accountability for Americas FM operations across multiple countries and regulatory environments. Manage vendor performance, resolve site‑level issues, and escalate risks appropriately. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Architecture, Business, or related field required. Advanced degree preferred but not required. Experience A minimum of 8 years of experience in Facilities Management, Engineering, or Operations, or related field required preferably in a multinational or regulated environment is required. Demonstrated experience managing outsourced FM service models across multiple sites and/or leveraging strong outsource service provider models for operational execution is required. Experience supporting Americas countries with diverse regulatory and infrastructure maturity strongly preferred. Experience in medical device, life sciences, manufacturing, or highly regulated industries required Skills & Competencies Strong operational leadership and vendor management skills. Working knowledge of risk management, safety, compliance, and audit processes. Ability to operate effectively across cultures, time zones, and matrixed organizations. Clear communicator with strong stakeholder partnership capability. Disciplined executor with a continuous‑improvement mindset Can drives strong performance governance thru establishing and publishing KPIs and Analytics Dashboards, to drive Data-Driven Decision Making Other Requirements Language: English required; additional Americas regional languages a plus. Travel: ~20–30% within AMERICAS, with occasional global travel. Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.
