Job Description: We are seeking a Medical Advisor to lead the development and execution of the country Medical Affairs strategic plan, with a primary focus on vaccines. This role will play a critical part in shaping medical strategy, strengthening external scientific relationships, and supporting evidence generation and issue resolution. The Medical Advisor is expected to spend up to 50% of their time in external engagements. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to build trust within the medical and scientific community, facilitate peer-to-peer scientific exchange, and help ensure the delivery of balanced, non-promotional scientific information in line with company standards and local regulations. Key Responsibilities: Strategic and Tactical Leadership Consolidate actionable medical insights to inform company strategy Translate global medical goals and strategies into local tactics that support scientific exchange, patient outcomes, and access Adapt tactical plans to local business realities and priorities Follow up on Investigator-Initiated Study (IIS) proposals aligned with our company’s ISS Program areas of interest Collaborate with research laboratories and Global Clinical Trial Operations (GCTO) colleagues to identify potential investigators for clinical development programs Support the delivery of data generation activities across Phases I-IV, including identifying research projects, centers, investigators, and innovative methods to generate data Provide balanced, reliable, non-promotional scientific information in accordance with company standards and local regulations Medical and Scientific Leadership Bring local scientific and healthcare environment insights to the Regional Medical Affairs team Communicate scientific and business needs clearly and effectively across internal and external stakeholders Build trust with the external scientific community through peer-to-peer exchange, research collaborations, educational initiatives, and engagement with scientific societies, health organizations, and publications Deliver therapeutic and functional training to assigned teams and affiliate functions Develop and execute country medical education programs and symposia Lead country advisory boards and expert input forums Participate in professional organizations and academic/regulatory working groups Regulatory and Market Access Support Collaborate in resolving regulatory, public relations, compliance, and other asset-related issues Support the resolution of asset safety and quality issues, including content and strategy for regulatory responses, risk management planning, and implementation Provide access support as needed, including health technology assessment, pre-license patient access, and reimbursement dossier development Inclusive Mindset and Behavior Demonstrate commitment to a culture of belonging, inclusion, equity, and empowerment Lead by example and serve as a role model for building and retaining a diverse and inclusive workforce Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: MD, PhD, or PharmD 2–3 years of clinical and/or research experience in a relevant disease area Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking, and presentation skills Fluency in local language and English, both spoken and written Experience with local pharmaceutical industry guidelines, regulatory/reimbursement frameworks, and clinical research guidelines Strong prioritization skills and the ability to understand broader corporate strategy Demonstrated ability to develop a network of scientific leaders and key stakeholders, including public groups, government officials, and medical professional organizations Proven ability to communicate effectively at country management level Ability to collaborate effectively across functions in a matrix environment Why Join Us? This will be based on an individual’s experience, skills, organizational needs and compensation levels within their peer group. If applicable, the role might also be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentives or other benefits.
