Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.) Job Description Senior Manufacturing TechnicianAs a Senior Manufacturing Technician at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play an important role in supporting the advancement of biopharmaceutical research and development. Your primary responsibility will be to execute, maintain, and continuously improve the small-scale manufacturing of custom Research Use Only (RUO) products for the biopharmaceutical industry. Our products are based on specialized ligands consisting of single-chain antibody fragments derived from genetically modified yeast. Key ResponsibilitiesIn this dynamic and hands-on role, you will: Play an integral role in executing and improving manufacturing processes within our state-of-the-art facility. Learn, operate, and maintain advanced technologies used in the manufacturing of biological products. Perform small-scale manufacturing activities in accordance with established procedures and quality requirements. Contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, documentation, and operational efficiency. Collaborate closely with colleagues across Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure reliable product availability. Support the training and mentoring of new employees and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team. Manufacturing ActivitiesYour manufacturing responsibilities will include: Lab scale resin manufacturing Preparation of conjugates using our ligands, including Biotin, HRP, and Alexa dyes. Filling and packaging approved products in the required quantities and formats, including boxes, tubes, and bottles. Testing and Quality Control ActivitiesIn addition to manufacturing activities, you will perform and support a range of analytical and quality control tests, including: Sandwich Leakage ELISA, using a Tecan automated platform. Direct ELISA, performed manually for HRP-conjugated products. Octet analysis for Biotin-conjugated products. Dynamic Binding Capacity (DBC) testing using an ÄKTA system for resin products. DBC testing using magnetic separation for magnetic bead products. You will ensure that manufacturing and testing activities are accurately documented and performed in accordance with applicable procedures and quality standards. Qualifications and ExperienceThe successful candidate will ideally have: A Bachelor's degree or MBO-4 qualification in Biosciences, Biotechnology, Bioprocess Technology, or a related discipline. A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience. Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the biotechnology, life sciences, or pharmaceutical industry. Fluency in English, both written and spoken. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. The ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing priorities and operational requirements. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Effective training and mentoring skills, with the ability to support the onboarding and development of new employees. Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills. Excellent documentation and technical writing capabilities. Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality management system. Experience working with an ERP system is considered an advantage.
