Role summary QA Engineering Technicians support defect inspection tools and help drive continuous improvement and defect management in a semiconductor fabrication environment. You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to detect issues early, support excursion response, and help sustain stable tool performance across shifts. Key responsibilities • Metrology tool support (AOI/Review): Support recipe writing, robustness, matching checks, and monitoring plans across darkfield/brightfield/SEM/Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) platforms • Excursion response: Support defect excursion investigations, including data pull/analysis, containment documentation, and disposition support for discrepant material • Defect data analytics: Review and classify defect data, identify trends, generate reports, and communicate results to Engineering and Management • Containment and corrective actions: Collaborate with Engineering and partner teams to implement containment and corrective actions and communicate defect/quality risks • Procedures and documentation: Execute OCAPs and actions to contain excursions; write excursion reports and lot disposition documentation • Technical writing / change documentation: Revise specifications, write TECNs, and maintain defect-of-interest libraries • Problem solving: Develop resolutions to complex problems that require creativity and sound judgment • Cross-functional collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to improve fab quality and operational stability Required skills • Ability to collect and write detailed technical reports; analyze data; identify defects/trends; and support containment/corrective/preventive actions • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively as part of a team • Ability to manage rapidly changing priorities, multitask, and make good day-to-day decisions • Proactive problem identification and practical solutioning (including knowing when to seek approval) • Strong communication and documentation skills with a customer service and quality mindset • Willingness to learn new tasks, tools, and processes • Experience in a semiconductor fab environment; quality or defect engineering exposure is a plus • Education/experience: Associate degree or 2–3 years of semiconductor experience preferred but not required Preferred qualifications • Experience with defect inspection and review tools (e.g., KLA/ONTO brightfield/darkfield, automated SEM review, or similar toolsets) Shift coverage This position supports all manufacturing shifts. For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $32 to $40.Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors. This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors This position includes medical, vision and dental coverage, 401k, paid vacation, holidays, and sick time, and other benefits. Benefits for the position includes 10 paid holidays per year, paid vacation starting at 136 hours per year for full-time employees (prorated for part-time employees), and paid sick time that exceeds the requirements of the Washington State Sick Leave law.
