This position reports to: Division General Counsel & Head of Contract Management IAPI __ Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to proactively lead and set out the strategy in consultation with the business and other functions for the provision of contract management services within your assigned area of responsibility. You will ensure that all contract management activities are executed in accordance with corporate/division/business policies and procedures, Contract Management Policy, Contract Management Framework, and best contract management and risk management practices, with a focus on risk mitigation and opportunity maximization. You will take a holistic and solution orientated approach to contract management, with a cross-border, cross-business line, and cross-division perspective, while fostering collaboration and a broader, common interests attitude to reaching objectives. The work model for the role is: hybrid in US, Canada or Mexico in Eastern/Central US time zone. You should be available for travel to customer meetings and to ABB offices. This role is contributing to the Process Industries division of the ABB Automation business area in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Main stakeholders are sales, project management, supply chain, functions etc. in the Pulp, Paper & Fiber, Metals & Power Conversion and Materials & Mining business lines. Close collaboration with the legal and integrity function is required. You will be mainly accountable for: Ensuring that the portfolio of contract management services within the assigned area of responsibility follows contract and claim management methodologies in accordance with Contract Management Framework, best practices for contract and risk management and relevant policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with ABB’s global standards. Enforcing and defending ABB's contractual interests against customers and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle, including monitoring and assessment of changes and deviations, as well as defending and enforcing commercial claims. Analyzing the contract terms to highlight, flag and actively deal with the areas of potential opportunity and risk, such as ambiguities, omissions, and conflicts, throughout the project lifecycle. Developing contract management strategy in line with ABB’s policies and procedures, customer requirements, and the overall execution strategy, considering the risk, pricing, scope, and schedule. Qualifications for the role You enjoy working as part of a team integrated into our business and have a keen interest in technology, automation and processes. You have a flare for contract and risk management, working in a pragmatic and collaborative way and can act as a bridge between various stakeholders and interested parties. You have 10 years of experience and a proven track record in contract management. Degree in contract management, project management, engineering, quantity surveying or similar from a reputable university. You are at ease communicating in English. US candidates* While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $142,500 and $228,000 annually and is eligible for a annual bonus.
