Job Description The Director, AI Risk, Return and Resilience will provide critical oversight, strategy and thought leadership over the governance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at Allstate. This role is accountable for leading the enterprise AI risk, return and resilience strategy and programs, with a specific focus on the integration and management of AI, data, and model integration into the company as well as maintaining a robust governance structure. The role requires heavy coordination cross-functionally across areas of responsibilities and interaction with senior leadership. This role will be responsible for managing sub-teams devoted to assessment of AI internally and at third parties, and will work laterally with technologists, data scientists, modelers, legal and compliance personnel, other risk professionals, and business leaders. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the enhancement and execution of a robust enterprise AI risk, return and resilience strategy that incorporates agentic and generative AI considerations Lead and coordinate the implementation of agentic, generative and broader AI deployment requirements across the enterprise Advance, automate and monitor progress over the various tracks of the AI risk program to drive efficiency and alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices. Provide thought leadership and oversight over the intake, enablement, and risk management of AI both internally and related to third parties Enhance, review and formalize policies and standards for AI risk management, specifically addressing the unique challenges and opportunities presented by AI technologies developed internally and externally Lead and oversee the intake and assessments over AI models, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks and ethical standards Lead and further embed AI model governance controls across 1st and 2nd line, including the proactive identification of AI models as they are deployed / modified Oversee the requirements over AI deployment platform implementations and articulate needs from an AI risk management perspective Contribute to support AI Working Group, Operational Risk and Return Council (ORRC), Enterprise Risk and Return Council (ERRC) and Board Risk and Return Committee (RRC) reporting SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has supervisory duties. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred) 15 or more years of experience (Preferred) In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS No Certification, License or Registration is required for the job. FUNCTIONAL SKILLS Strong collaboration and communication skills to drive outcomes with alignment from stakeholders across the enterprise System thinking mindset with ability to consider interdependencies and anticipate implications when making recommendations Strong understanding of business risk and AI risk particularly in the insurance industry Strong understanding of the development, application, deployment and management of agentic and generative AI technology and governance Strong thought leadership over the construct of AI governance, including policies, standards, validations, post-production monitoring, control expectations Experience in machine learning, generative and agentic AI, natural language processing evaluation prior to and post deployment Technical data science and model validation expertise and experience and the ability to make data driven decisions a plus Keen understanding of the landscape of regulatory requirements over artificial intelligence and model governance Naturally lead and influence parties in cross-functional organizations, including law and regulations, procurement, information security, privacy, among others to achieve collective objectives of AI governance Ability to navigate complex situations and communicate complex subject matter effectively using a range of communication styles and methods Strong leadership and people management over a team of risk professionals Skills Agentic AI, AI Governance, AI Risk Management, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Business Risks, Corporate Risk Management, Executive Leadership, Generative AI, Integration Management, Model Governance, Release Strategy, Risk Intelligence, Risk Management, Risk Management Principles, Thought Leadership Compensation Compensation offered for this role is 177,000.00 - 243,750.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
