Job description

Introduction to the Job ASML US brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler, Arizona, San Jose and San Diego, California, Wilton, Connecticut, and Hillsboro, Oregon. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P) represents ASML’s Sourcing, Logistics and Quality interface to its supply base and is responsible for Materials Availability for ASML’s factories. In today’s complex multi-tier supply chains, this is only possible by creating full transparency in the chains and flexibility at suppliers. SS&P manages over 100 chains up to seven tiers deep, addressing potential bottlenecks and supply risks before they impact our customers. It must handle the increased complexity of ASML’s systems while reducing cost of ownership for customers. To do this, SS&P and its logistics engineers work with suppliers to continuously reduce cycle time for components, modules and assemblies, increasing supply chain flexibility and customer value. SS&P also monitors the suppliers’ quality, flexibility, cycle time reductions, move rate compliance and on-time delivery reliability, driving supplier development in all areas to ensure ASML’s supply keeps pace with technological developments and can adapt to changing market conditions. Job Mission The mission of The SS&P Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) team is to translate ASML product roadmaps into lean supply chain solutions. PLM is responsible for securing material availability for ASML’s new systems during prototype phase, early shipping, and initial ramp up. This involves the planning and release of new and changing materials (initiated by Engineering Changes EC’s) throughout the logistics chain from system development through suppliers and manufacturing to customers. In a fast-paced industry, PLM is involved in system development from day one – defining logistics requirements and identifying potential risks in suppliers’ design and production processes. In the spirit of concurrent engineering, this happens while the system is still being developed, so specifications are constantly subject to change. Hence PLM drives timely delivery of Bill of Materials of new/changed materials and technical documentation during development, and ensures supply chain and in-field infrastructures can handle the new products. The PLM team you will lead, is responsible for the introduction, industrialization and phase-out strategies of new products as well as engineering sustaining activities for existing products. In this role, you’ll make a real difference to the efficiency and profitability of the company by determining and managing the supply chain project plan of platforms, new products, associated introduction types (new builds, installs and upgrades), industrialization, and phase-out strategies. To achieve this, you will be using a mix of technical, creative and interpersonal skills to guide, coordinate, and mentor your team to meet program deliverables and deadlines. Role and responsibilities Manage concurrent supply chain introduction of new product designs in the global supply chain from technical feasibility towards ramp and release-for-volume including the critical path of Bill of Material readiness, technical documentation readiness, and material availability towards prototype, pilot and volume systems and spares. Plan, mobilize and support resources of the SS&P supplier collaboration teams to fulfill the plans. Manage worldwide material availability balanced against customer service levels, inventory, quality, costs and risks: Identify bottle necks, prepare decisions and take actions towards engineering, suppliers, factories, field to manage the critical path both for time-to-market and ramp. Strong development and leadership skills required to further build and manage an existing team of various expert level positions and ensure that the team can further develop towards required PLM experience and performance level. Work closely with SS&P/PLM-PL team to secure up-to-date and complete Project overviews for their respective Product Teams (PDT) and Module Delivery Units (MDU) scope and address and signal risks for timely and quality execution of the respective NPI. Pro-actively resource planning and staffing of the PLM project coordinators to ensure the optimal use of capacity and capabilities. Thorough understanding of PLM processes and building towards a cohesive PLM team with a shared focus on PLM performance requirements based on PLM Action Card Metrics and building strong collaboration with internal stakeholders.
