Sandvik Mining Field Service Technician (Underground) – (FIFO 8:6) – Perth, WA About the opportunity We're looking for skilled maintenance personnel to join Sandvik's high-performing Field Service team, supporting some of Western Australia's leading mining operations. As a Field Service Technician, you'll work on Sandvik's industry-leading underground loaders, trucks, and drills, delivering expert maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs directly on customer sites. No two days are the same—you'll solve complex technical challenges while working with the latest mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, control, and automation technologies. Roster: 8:6, 12hr day shift only Responsibilities You will be responsible for keeping critical underground mining equipment performing safely and reliably in demanding environments. Your day-to-day will include: Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, repairs and fault-finding across Sandvik underground mining equipment. Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control system faults. Completing scheduled maintenance inspections to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and operational. Working closely with customers and the Sandvik Field Service team to identify issues and deliver effective solutions. Providing feedback and technical insights to help improve equipment reliability and maintenance planning. Maintaining accurate service records, including parts, labour, equipment condition and maintenance activities. Working in line with Sandvik's Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) standards, ensuring safety is at the heart of everything you do. About you A relevant trade qualification (HD Fitter / Auto Electrician). Previous experience working with underground mining equipment, ideally drills, loaders or trucks. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills and a practical, hands-on approach. A genuine commitment to safety and quality workmanship. The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player. Good communication skills and the confidence to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues. Basic computer skills and the ability to complete service and maintenance documentation. A current Manual Driver's Licence (essential). The ability to successfully complete pre-employment medical, police and reference checks, as well as ongoing drug and alcohol testing. Willingness to travel interstate or internationally for training and development opportunities Experience with Sandvik equipment? That's a great advantage, but it's not essential. Experience with underground loaders, trucks, drills or similar heavy mining equipment will be highly regarded. Exposure to equipment such as the Sandvik LH and TH series, underground development and production drills, or Sandvik technologies including AutoMine® and OptiMine® will be advantageous. Most importantly, we're looking for people with the right attitude, technical capability and willingness to learn. Hands-on experience with Sandvik underground loaders and trucks, including: Loaders (LH series): LH203, LH307, LH410, LH514, LH517i, LH621i Trucks (TH series): TH320, TH430, TH551i, TH663i Familiarity with Sandvik underground drills, such as: Development drills: DD421, DD422i, DD422iE, DD212 Production & Cable Bolter drills: DL421, DL432i, DL422i Exposure to Sandvik AutoMine® and OptiMine® systems Willingness to travel interstate or internationally for training and development opportunities To be eligible for this role, you must have the right to live and work in Australia.
