How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the daily production operations on a designated shift or unit within the chemical plant. This role ensures that manufacturing processes adhere to procedures/work instructions, safety standards, quality specifications, production schedules, and cost objectives. The supervisor leads and mentors a team of operators and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and safety compliance. This position may necessitate working rotating shifts and requires flexibility to accommodate changes in schedules and shifts as operational needs dictate.Safety, Compliance, and Process Excellence (The 3 Core Commitments) 1. Zero Deviation Safety & Stop Work Authority Drives a non-negotiable culture of "Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time" and “No Tolerance to Deviation”. Owns and enforces the "No Tolerance to Deviation" and Stop Work Authority policies across their shift team, ensuring all employees and contractors understand and follow the 3 Core Commitments. Responsible for implementing and enforcing all established company/ site policies and operational procedures without deviation, escalate to Production Manager if challenges are discovered at implementing them. Is himself/herself trained to the operation he/she oversees, and understands it in depth (incl. The WHY the process is defined as it is). Contribute to proactive monitoring of important production parameters & internal procedure compliance checks, Stop Work & escalate if deviations or abnormalities are discovered. Directly manages the Production Technicians, ensuring that all personnel are formally qualified, competent and capable for the tasks they perform, and ensures training & qualification can be conducted as per plan. Process Safety Compliance: Mandate and verify the successful completion of Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) and strict adherence to the Safe Work Permit (SWP) system for all required activities. Emergency Response (ER) Leadership: Serve as the leader for the internal Emergency Response (ER) team, ensuring readiness, effective coordination, and execution of emergency procedures. Holistic Optimization: Execute daily management by effectively balancing competing priorities—specifically safety, quality, productivity, manpower, cost, and morale—to ensure positive, integrated results in all operational areas. Actively champions Safety & Quality Leadership, intervening immediately on any deviations, abnormalities, unsafe acts and reinforcing positive safety/ quality behaviors. Lead and conduct thorough investigations into the root causes of all reported quality, safety and reliability issues, lead troubleshooting effort with relevant stakeholders. 2. Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement Production Supervision and Planning: responsible for workforce planning & assignment, schedule management and inventory control (including finished products, raw material & manufacturing supplies) in their shifts. Responsible for the achievement of all Production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) & team priorities in their shifts, including personal safety, process safety (near misses, alarm management), quality, OEE, cost of production, and other relevant metrics. Manages and prioritizes maintenance activities and shutdowns for the production unit to minimize impact on schedule and maximize reliability. 3. Documentation & System Integrity Manage adherence to approved work instructions to ensure safety and quality performance. Ensures all key operating documents (SOPs, WIs) are accurate, up-to-date, and effectively communicated and trained to the team. SOP and Documentation Maintenance: Responsible for highlighting any key operating documents (SOPs, WIs) that do not represent actual practice on the manufacturing for all production activities and drives action to either correct the operational deviation or the work instruction (through appropriate validation process), depending of the finding of the cause of deviation 4. Team & Talent Development Directly responsible for the performance, training, and development of the Production Technicians in his shift, acting as a coach and mentor to build technical expertise and leadership skills. Oversee the structured training of new personnel on core production systems and ensure training can be allocated as per plan. Ensure that training is conducted strictly according to Work Instruction. Facilitate functional cross-training to build workforce flexibility and resilience. Fosters a culture of Ownership, collaboration, and decisive problem-solving within their shift teams or between shifts. Unsupervised Work Restriction: Ensure that personnel do not engage in unsupervised work until their complete training and qualification process has been formally documented and completed ___________________Are you a MATCH? Education At least a Diploma, preferably in Chemical Process Technology or equivalent qualification. Work Experience Minimum of 5+ years experience (including 2+ years of experience in a leadership role) in process, production, or project engineering, preferably within high purity specialty chemicals, food, nuclear, semiconductor or pharmaceutical plant operations. Language Fluency in the Subsidiary official language(s), including expert written and verbal communication in English Specific Knowledge and Know-How Comprehensive understanding of chemical processing systems. Familiarity with mechanical equipment, encompassing pumps, piping, manifolds, and valves. Expertise in the characteristics of high purity chemicals and contamination control methodologies. Knowledge of mechanical processing systems. Ability to perform technical troubleshooting to resolve process issues. Ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID). Management and Behavioral Skills Exceptional proficiency in problem-solving, as well as strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Proven ability to effectively manage multiple, concurrent priorities. Highly effective collaborator and team contributor. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational capabilities within a team environment. Ability to work in rotating shifts and requires flexibility to accommodate changes in schedules and shifts as operational needs dictate.
