Primary Role Objective(s) To carry out all activities assigned to ensure that production targets in terms of quality, safety, quantity, and volume are attained. Reporting Line This position reports to the relevant department/area Team Leader or Manager. Major Duties & Responsibilities Perform all duties assigned by Team/Testing/Unit/ Leader/ Manufacturing Manager. Carry out the following operations in the relevant production areas / work centers: filling packing kit packing/labelling service centers computer application activity Component inspections Surface cleaning Collection of quality records Non-Inventory material checks Staging of equipment Complete and comply with all documentation as required in the process. Adhere to all Good Manufacturing requirements. Ensure that all duties are carried out in a safe manner. Training of new employees. Adhere to all relevant Operating Procedures. Revising OP's and other documentation as appropriate. Assist in and become involved in cost saving ideas. Perform line clearances and line close outs. Perform computer applications as required. Partake in project work, such as product transfers, validation of facilities, equipment or processes and other relevant operations/quality improvement projects/programs. Complete all activities in a safe manner ensuring that any potential safety issues and areas of improvement are highlighted to Team Leader / Manager. Ensure environmental procedures e.g. recycling, waste minimization are adhered to, and improvements are made where possible. Update all applicable databases, spreadsheets and schedules with relevant information from shift. EHS Requirement: To ensure that all procedures are followed in a safe manner, and all safety regulations and guidelines are adhered to. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact in a friendly, cooperative manner with other departments within the plant and members of various teams. Problem Solving: Some work activities happen in an environment which is not constantly supervised. Diagnostic Assistants are expected to handle all day-to-day manufacturing issues; however, if a major problem occurs, they will confer with a Team /Testing/Unit/Shift Leader/ Manufacturing Manager. Management and/or Leadership Responsibilities No supervisory duties are associated with this position. No leadership activities are associated with this position. Accountability Individuals are responsible for ensuring that proper procedures are adhered to; failure to do so could result in financial losses, customer complaints, ultimately product recalls and significant financial losses. Scope of Authority Individuals are given authority to carry out their duties without constant supervision. Formal goals are reviewed on a regular basis and formal performance reviews are carried out once per year. Education Minimum: Leaving Certificate or equivalent standard of education is required, and/or 2 years manufacturing experience in a similar / regulated environment. Experience Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as Diagnostic Assistants are accompanied until certified as competent with tasks performed.
