Work Flexibility: Onsite Staff Manufacturing Engineer – Biomaterials Contract: 23-Month FTC with view to extend + Full Suite of Benefits Location: Raheen Business Park, Limerick Work Type: On-Site About the Role As a Staff Manufacturing Engineer – Biomaterials, you’ll play a key role in supporting, sustaining and improving manufacturing processes across our Biomaterials product lines. This is a hands-on technical role where you’ll work closely with Operations, Quality, Validation and Maintenance to ensure our processes remain safe, reliable, compliant and capable of consistently delivering high-quality products. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of manufacturing processes, lead technical problem-solving and deliver improvements that have a measurable impact on the operation. What You’ll Do Provide technical leadership across Biomaterials manufacturing processes and value streams. Own and improve manufacturing processes within the value streams, ensuring quality, stability and compliance. Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to resolve product and process issues. Deliver continuous improvement and cost reduction projects focused on OEE, yield and scrap reduction, using Lean, Six Sigma and data-driven techniques. Provide hands-on technical and operational support to manufacturing. Take ownership of key cell metrics, including Manufacturing Loss and Right First Time. Drive structured problem-solving and ongoing process improvement. Support process validation, equipment, raw material and consumable assessments. Lead or support strategic engineering projects and process development initiatives. Work cross-functionally to troubleshoot and implement improvements. Train and mentor operators, technicians, Co-Op students and engineers, providing technical guidance and support. Provide leadership and technical direction to other Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians as required. Qualifications Knowledge Skills Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or a relevant discipline. 4+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or relevant industry. Strong analytical, problem-solving and continuous improvement skills. Proven ability to provide technical leadership, influence others and make effective decisions. Strong communication and influencing skills across technical and non-technical teams. Experience working in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment. A collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team. Experience with powder/liquid blending, chemical synthesis or Biomaterials would be advantageous. Lean/Six Sigma, automation or project management experience would also be beneficial. #IJ Ireland Pay Ranges:Ireland: €54,000 - €90,000 EUR Annual At Stryker, we believe transparency helps candidates make confident decisions about their next career step.
