Meet the Team: For the Industrial Engineering department at the Airbus Mobile Manufacturing Site, there are positions available in the following categories: Industrial Engineering - Responsible for understanding disruptions on the production line and implementing technical solutions to ensure the disruption does not occur again. Also responsible for introducing new modifications on aircraft to the production line. Process Performance Engineering - Responsible for preparing the in-station plan for when each job task will be completed within the Takt time Your Working Environment: In Mobile, AL on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond. Program Highlights: Over the course of our 10-12-week internship program, participants will have the opportunity to: Work directly with a mentor in their field of study while finding solutions to real world problems Gain on the job experience Experience our products up close by touring our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities Build a lasting professional network through social events and engaging activities Gain the skills and knowledge to become a future industry leader Your Challenges: Demonstrate the ability to identify root causes, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions to complex challenges. Work effectively with cross-functional teams, actively listens to others, and contributes to a shared goal. Maintain a solution-oriented approach in dynamic or high-pressure environments, adjusting strategies as needed. Take initiative to address issues before they escalate and follows through on commitments. Clearly articulates problems, solutions, and feedback while fostering an open and respectful team environment. Your Boarding Pass: Preferred Education: Working towards Bachelor’s degree in one the following majors at least at Sophomore standing Industrial, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Preferred Experience: School projects in related fields Technical Systems Proficiency: Required: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs) Travel Required: N/A Ability to work in the US without current, or future, need of visa sponsorship/work authorization is required. Physical Requirements: Onsite or remote: 100% Onsite Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer. Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice, potentially internationally. Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visit, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
