DESCRIPTION: Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll help develop and test software for scientific instruments and laboratory solutions. As a Software Test Engineer III, you'll ensure the quality and reliability of our software products through comprehensive testing strategies. Working in an adaptable environment, you'll collaborate with teams to validate software for mass spectrometers, electron microscopes, and other analytical instruments that help make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis through final release. Your role includes designing and executing test plans, automating test procedures, documenting defects, and verifying resolutions. You'll work closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure our software meets the highest quality standards while supporting continuous improvement in our testing processes. REQUIREMENTS: • Advanced degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience in software testing, including both manual and automated testing • Strong knowledge and expertise in embedded system/hardware • Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, or related field • ISTQB certification advantageous • Strong experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g. PyTest, Squish) • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python • Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins) • Expertise in API testing using tools like Postman or similar • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices • Experience with test management tools (JIRA, HPALM) • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Strong verbal and written communication abilities in English • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams • Experience with bug tracking systems and defect lifecycle management • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities • Hands-on experience working in Linux operating system environments • Strong documentation skills for test plans, test cases, and technical reports • Experience with acoustic imaging cytometry instruments or testing of laser-based and imaging systems is highly desirable .
