A Day in the LifeThe Transformation Director, Global Trade, will lead the modernization of global trade systems, data, processes, and organizational capabilities. This position will establish and execute the digital trade transformation roadmap, strengthen governance of critical trade data, and coordinate cross-functional implementation of enterprise initiatives. The director will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and provide visibility into transformation progress, risks, dependencies, milestones, and deployment readiness. Located at Medtronic's headquarters in Minneapolis, MN, this role is onsite four days per week. Primary Responsibilities: Lead the global digital trade transformation strategy in partnership with business and functional stakeholders. Define, prioritize, and execute the roadmap for modernizing systems and processes that support global import and export operations. Establish and oversee governance standards for global trade master data and transactional data used to support import and export compliance. Design and implement system and process enhancements for Harmonized System classification, export control classification, country of origin, customs valuation, and other critical trade data. Drive automation, standardization, and optimization initiatives that improve the scalability, efficiency, traceability, and integrity of global trade processes and data. Lead deployment planning, stakeholder readiness, and implementation coordination for system and operating-model changes affecting global trade. Partner with data analytics teams to implement global customs and trade dashboards, performance measures, and reporting that improve visibility into operational performance and compliance risk. Provide leadership with updates and recommendations concerning transformation progress, risks, dependencies, milestones, deployment readiness, and organizational capabilities, including centralized centers of excellence. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in international trade with 7+ years of leadership experience or an advanced degree with 8+ years in international trade with 7+ years of leadership experience Experience developing programs and creating business-facing systems documentation that explains system data flows Experience with SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS) and global trade management technology Demonstrated expertise in at least one substantive area of international trade, such as import operations, export operations, customs compliance, classification, country of origin, valuation, or export controls Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading digital, systems, data, or operating-model transformation programs for global trade Experience establishing data governance, master data standards, analytics, or performance measures for global trade operations Experience managing enterprise projects and influencing middle and senior leadership across business and functional teams Experience in a highly regulated industry, such as medical devices, life sciences, or aerospace For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
