The PositionJob DescriptionAs a Senior ERP Business Analyst, you will independently manage end-to-end business analysis workstreams within the SAP Sales and Distribution (SD / Market Plan to Cash) functional area. You will tackle complex business problems with emerging ambiguity, demonstrating a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical business domain, related enterprise technologies, and cross-module interdependencies. In this role, you will apply advanced BA tools and techniques to translate business requirements into strategic implementation plans and solution designs. You will act as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams, shape stakeholder perspectives, and drive the design, validation, and delivery of scalable SAP solutions. Additionally, you will mentor junior analysts and actively contribute to the ERP Community of Practice (CoP). Description of the AreaThis role supports the Marketing Plan to Cash (MP2C) value stream and is aligned with the ASPIRE roadmap, a multi-year global initiative aiming to define and develop functional ERP roadmaps that simplify, standardize, and automate core business processes leveraging SAP industry best practices. The team focuses on delivering high-impact Order-to-Cash offerings and integrating SAP SD seamlessly across global enterprise platforms. Job ResponsibilitiesScope / (Content Leadership): Independently manage end-to-end business analysis workstreams for the SAP SD (Market Plan to Cash) domain without guidance. Adapt and adhere to Roche standard frameworks, mentor junior and intermediate BAs, and drive/lead practices in end-to-end process design and optimization. Work in close partnership with business stakeholders to define, design, build, test, and deploy functional ERP solutions based on SAP ECC and S/4 HANA best practices. Accountability / Problem Solving: Perform root cause analysis on complex business issues and lead Key Design Decisions. Accountable for creating comprehensive documentation (functional and technical specifications, test plans) and configuring, building, testing, and deploying SAP SD solutions alongside implementation partners, as well as coordinating production changes and providing L3 support for live operational systems. Stakeholder Management: Build strong, trusted partnerships across business and IT teams. Facilitate design workshops, resolve conflicts, manage expectations, and coordinate changes across cross-functional departments in the Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and gain endorsement across global IT and business teams. Impact / Strategy: Translate business requirements into strategic implementation plans and global solution roadmaps that maximize business value and minimize solution duplication. Evaluate solution alternatives and ensure continuous product increments aligned with long-term domain goals. Complexity / (Product Size): Manage requirements and system interdependencies across complex multi-solution enterprise landscapes. Oversee and ensure integrations between SAP SD and adjacent applications, including SFDC, SAP Hybris, 3PL/4PL integration solutions. Business / Technical Ability: Apply deep domain and technical expertise in SAP SD customizing, configuration, and interface monitoring (iDoc, XML, Web Services, RFC, CIF). Ensure strict adherence to Roche IT standards, including security, privacy, IT Quality, GxP compliance, and Computer System Validation (CSV) requirements. QualificationsEducation / Experience Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent degree. 8+ years of Business Analysis / ERP Consultancy experience delivering enterprise solutions, with at least 3+ years within the life sciences/pharmaceutical industry. 4+ years of hands-on technical expertise working directly within SAP SD and associated modules (MM/EWM) Minimum of 3 full lifecycle SAP implementations from blueprint to go-live, with at least 1 project delivered in a lead capacity. Proven track record of independently managing end-to-end ERP solution delivery, handling ambiguous requirements, and translating strategic objectives into execution plans. Technical Skills In-depth functional knowledge of SAP SD core configuration, master data, pricing, and end-to-end Order-to-Cash processes (e.g., Sales Order Management, Shipping, Billing, and Credit Management functionalities). Thorough understanding of cross-module dependencies including SAP FI/CO, MM, EWM, PP etc. Having good understanding and experience in Vistex add-on is an advantage. Expert knowledge in the design, build, and monitoring of SAP integration interfaces across third-party tools (iDoc, XML, Web Services, RFC, CIF) in collaboration middleware team. Experience in middleware integration with MuleSoft, B2B Sterling, SAP IS is advantageous. Working familiarity with key ALM and productivity tools: SAP Solution Manager, Jira, ServiceNow, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365. Desirable basic knowledge of debugging, ABAP, SAP Authorizations, and Basis to effectively collaborate with technical development teams. Proficiency in utilizing AI tools and methodologies (e.g., Generative AI, AI-assisted process modeling/documentation to increase productivity and solution innovation. Additional Qualifications Applied experience in quality management, compliance, and Computer System Validation (CSV) within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology validated environment. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills with both technical teams and executive business stakeholders.
