Join Stryker's Surgical Technologies R&D team as a Staff Mechanical Engineer and help develop the next generation of surgical fluid and smoke management systems. As a senior technical contributor within New Product Development, you will work across the entire product lifecycle, from concept through launch, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, safe, and compliant medical device solutions. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong mechanical design background, systems-level thinking, and expertise in complex problem solving who is passionate about driving technical innovation, influencing product direction, and mentoring fellow engineers. To learn more about Stryker’s Surgical Technologies portfolio, please click here: Surgical Technologies | Stryker What You Will Do Design, develop, and verify components and subsystems for medical devices with minimal supervision. Translate user needs into design specifications and deliver system-level solutions. Lead prototyping and testing efforts to validate design performance. Identify and resolve complex design issues using data-driven analysis to improve processes and outcomes. Apply clinical knowledge to author design inputs and support Voice of Customer sessions. Ensure compliance with industry standards and mentor others in design control practices. Create and maintain engineering documentation, including Design History Files. Collaborate cross-functionally to drive projects from concept through launch. What You Will Need Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering. Minimum four years of relevant engineering experience. Experience designing mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies. Proficiency in creating engineering drawings and models using GD&T and CAD tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience with CAD tools, preferably Creo. Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes. Familiarity with risk management and quality systems in a regulated environment. Experience with fluid dynamics, air filtration, fabrication and plastics.
